There's the problem, it really wasn't above his waist line.

You said it hit him in the face... that's above his waistline. Just because he isn't standing up doesn't mean his waistline changes.

I know what your saying, and I know the rule, but if someone is down that far their face isn't parallel to there waistline, but it's damn close. I guess if that's how you want to look at it, players should do it more often to draw penalty's.

Slasher, that was ONE high stick. Compared to the NUMEROUS calls the Wild should have gotten for high sticking, you shouldn't be talking.
Can't wait for us to leave that god awful place. It's a shame we have to be there for at least one more game.
High sticking should only be called if your stick goes above your waist line. It's ridiculous.
The Predators lost today against the Red Wings. The Preds "scored" very quickly in the opening minutes but it was waved off. The net was pushed off by a Red Eing player before the puck crossed the line and before the net was dislodged, but they still waved it off.
Oh well, Daren "The Turtle" McCarty got hammered all game, including a strong jab from Tootoo. Gotta love that.

Scuba, have you been able to watch any of the games of tv? Before the playoffs started me and my dad ordered NHL center ice on the internet, and so far is has paid off well. We've seen the first two games on the internet and game 3 is going to be on CBC.
Now that the Avs are back in Denver and we have the home crowd on our side we should be able to pick up both home game W's. Although, I think the Wild have a 6-8 or 7-8 (not sure) away record in the playoffs so it's not going to be easy. Our first 2 periods we play great hockey, then for some reason we fall apart in the 3rd, don't know why. Could be us getting tired (don't see that being the reason), could be our rookies not use to the playoff intensity, or who knows what, but we need to improve our 3rd period play.

I was able to watch most of the games on television, but I haven't been able to sit down and watch a full game since we played the Wild last in the regular season.

I was browsing the playoff stats over at nhl.com and I found something that doesn't make any sense.
Jose Theodore GAA = 2.29 with 56 saves on 61 attempts.
Niklas Backstrom GAA= 2.27 with 43 saves on 48 attempts.
Backstrom has faced less shots that Theo, let in the same amount as Theo, yet his GAA is better. I don't understand it. Maybe someone can help me clarify?

Scuba, please tell me you are watching the Sharks game... it's absolutely insane.
Wow.. **** the Sharks... that was the most pathetic hockey I've ever seen.

I saw this the other day too and didn't understand it. Also, Biron had played one game and let in five goals, yet his GAA was 5.08. NHL.com failed math.

I was and agree with you entirely. How you blow a three goal lead like that astounds me.
Not to mention the pieces of **** reffs. Patty was not only boarded which cut his eye pretty bad, but then elbowed in the face, which cut him again. He was bleeding all over his facve and jersey and no calls.

GAA has nothing to do with the amount of shots faced in a game. What you are thinking of is save percentage (Amount of Saves/Amount of shots faced).
GAA is based on the amount of goals allowed per 60 minutes. I just looked up the states of both goalies, and Backstrom has played 1 more minute more than Theodore, hence the slight difference in their GAA.
