1. The single-entry sign-ups are only if you don't have a team, and you want to play.

2. People over 18 years old are not "minors," so I obviously don't need anything form those people. The important thing to remember is that there is no way for me to verify your age, nor do I need to. If I don't receive a parental consent form, I am assuming you are over the age of 18 and will send you a shirt. If you think your parents might object to you receiving a prize in the mail, it's probably a good idea to get this form submitted.

That's pretty dumb, considering we already put in our credit card...

So basically the form doesnt matter, unless your parents are going to be pissed because you get a free t-shirt...

Interesting.

It's a legal notice. To hold a tournament where I will be sending out prizes in the mail, I must ensure that I am following federal law. If you choose to ignore my request for a parental consent form and / or lie about your age, there's nothing I can do about it.

It has nothing to do with the ESRB rating and has nothing to do with verification of your online account. It has to do with soliciting mailing addresses from minors. Fortunately, in this great country, we have laws that protect minors from being solicited for their address (for obvious reasons) by way of contests that offer prizes. To solicit your mailing address, if in fact you are a minor, I would have to receive it from your parent or guardian.

Is there any way whatsoever to do this without written consent? I'm having trouble getting stamps ("I don't have the time to visit the post office..." says the parent).

If people choose to be honest about this thing, then it will work. If people choose not to be honest, then it will still work. But if he did not have the option for the parental concerns, then if found out by the federal government, he could be sentenced to some sort of trial. But I think the Feds got more important things on their list. He just has to give you the option to do this. If not then he would be breaking the law when he very well knows that these people are minors. So I recommend being honest if you want the t-shirt. I don't need or want the t-shirt, just want to play. He can have it

My bad — I should know better than to follow the rules and try to be a good person.
