Stopping(?)
I realize that some people might already do this, but I'll post anyway.
Recently I was playing a devils road small (I love those) as a mercenary. If you've ever played one, you'll know that the main crossing
point is on the far left (if a seal; far right if a mercenary). That area is partial to lots of jumping, due to tons of snipers covering it. I
noticed that alot of my fellow mercenaries were being shot as they went across, some even in the air. The game was explosive,
grenade, and mine free, so there were no smoke grenades to throw.
I realized that to prevent dying, I needed to do something different. I ran out, backpedaled, jumped around, and ran in a few circles as
I crossed. I was eventually shot, close to the other side. I tried something different as I respawned again. I ran out, jumped, ran a bit more
and stopped. It worked great! I got all the way across several times before they began to catch on (or get lucky), at which point I switched back to
what I was doing before for a while, and went off and on.
What do you think about the effectiveness of this? Consider:
-New snipers or snipers that don't place their crosshairs in the path, but instead try to follow the person
-The ridge (left side seals), and the possibility of snipers up there
-Taking too long to cross, and being shot by someone who runs up from the seal houses
Do I use parentheses too much? I see four, so that averages one per paragraph.
Thanks
