First, buying a $500 system for one game is sad.

Second, telling people to respect you won't get you respect. Respect is earned, not demanded.


And for another suggestion for a fast-paced game is Unreal Tournament. Not as many people play it as before, but it's fast-paced action.


As for the tips given in this thread...

1. Look at tip 6. Seriously, WTF. Tip 1 says don't stop moving, while tip 6 says post up sometimes, which includes stopping.

2. Jumping makes you an easy target. Any decent sniper can put his/her crosshairs where you're going to land.

3. From what I've noticed in the last 2 years, weight doesn't matter until you get into red.

4. Good tip methinks, just know when to STFU. If your playing with good enough players, general location works. The [S3] noobs are good enough to find an enemy when I just give a general location.

5. Strategy is good for tactics and run n gun. If everyone just runs out, nothing gets accomplished. Say two nade left, two nade middle, two nade right, while others rush.

6. See what I said about tip 1.

7. IMHO, shooting down at someone is easier than shooting up at someone. But being higher up makes you more noticeable.

8. No need to turn up the TV, but defiantly listen. Check out bob's S3 final. It's a TF clip. He throws a nade, hears someone coming up behind him, gets the kill.

9. I too am amazed at how many people don't know this. I've been called a glitcher so many times for shooting people through the boxes, especially in Antenora small.

10. Yes. Aim. I'm amazed at the number of people that STILL can't aim on S3/CA.

11. 1 nade > big group, so don't run in squads ;)

12. If you're the worst run n gunner on Socom, you're better than a cheater/glitcher.

If your opponent is dumb enough to keep throwing himself at a wall of bullets, why not stay put and let him come to you? You obviously have the advantage, It would be stupid to throw it away just because an unskilled gamer can't figure out where to throw a grenade or how to flank an opponent.

SOCOM 3 and CA are perfect games to set up a "more realistic" squad-based combat situation. I know this from experience, my friends list is populated primarily of those gamers I've come across that are actually into that style. My own clan is composed of only those types.
(coincidently..now recruiting a Marksman!)

Back to the subject at hand. In my opinion, the best Run'n'Gun games on SOCOM now are the ones that have handguns and assault rifles turned off. I can go all day with submachine guns and shotguns, with grenades for added fun :) The only map I don't recommend grenades for is Fault, It's just a little too imbalanced against the SEALs unless you know how to effectively use smoke as cover to get out of that pit.
In fact the most enjoyable (Again, in my opinion) are Shotguns only on Fault and Killing fields and Subs only on Devil's road (all small maps)
1. I never told you to go play a certain game. I just made a simple request so that other members don't treat you like the stupid new member. (there been a lot of those) I never showed any aggression or lack of respect for you.

2. I understand halo is more fast paced and suited for "run n gun" games but some people who may not have a Xbox can't pull one out of their ***.

I am sorry for calling you out, it was just the way you worded your post.

3. You're basically saying you're willing to stay in one spot for 3 minutes. The "defender" should be the "person who can't kill people while moving so he watches a doorway for 5 minutes at a time". Also how is a player unskilled because he wants some action in a game and takes the time to move his crosshairs?

I'll stop there, because I don't want to type a huge paragraph explaining how corner campers, prone snipers, and people who camp watching one doorway are very g**.

As for Shotgun only games I have to agree about how much fun they are. It's a great sight in S3 seeing more than %50 of the opposing team run out of they're spawn. As for SMGs, there will never been a fun game with them. With the spray of a F90 all people need to do is shoot and hope for a lucky headshot witch happens most of the time. The only thing that matches up to an F90 is a HK7 with extended-clips.

Okay guys, this'll be the last post I'll make to this thread if you want to turn it into an argument. I simply responded to your post and did not want to start an argument over it. If you guys can't focus on the actual topic then we might as well ask a moderator to shut this discussion down.
Can we leave it at that?
