Sniping Gun Selection
Tonight i was playing a ranked game on killing fields with some of my clan members. I was sniping and i wasnt doing any good. So i switched and got an M16 with a high scope and rifle laser...........I was amazed......i could run and gun and snipe. I went 10-0 in 2 rounds. Tell me your thought about the M16 against real "Sniper Rilfes"

Depends on the sniper. If the sniper is moving and you're standing still trying to follow him whith you're scope you're going to get owned. If the sniper is prone and isn't even looking at you, then it should be a piece of cake to kill him. If the sniper is a quick sniper or can actually crouch snipe quickly then you'll have a challenge to kill him. If you're moving in on him quickly then you will have a easy time killing him unless he indexs or shotguns you. When using a M16 against snipers you have to scan them and find out if what kind they are.

Well it's good for maps like echelon (sp?) where both are needed. But for maps like harv, copper, storm, threshold, ect you're gonna have to have the fifty cal snipers or else you're screwed.

Wrong! You can use a M16 on those maps just as well as a sniper. If you rush you can rip the snipers apart and get behind them faster then they can set up they're camp site. Thats if you're not doing the same thing.

well I think it depends on the map

M16 for maps where you think youre gonna have a lot of people interupting your sniping..like citadel or killing fields

and M87/M82 for large maps because if your well hidden no ones going to spot you so you dont have to go CQ fighting

M16 sucks. I'd rather have a pistol in short range.

I like the Mark 23! Anyway I don't like the M16 much. If I'm on seals I'd rather take the M14 or IW. It has the same range and the IW has a silencer. IF I'm on merc then yeah 16 or sniper rifle.
