Cool
Regarding the above post, it depends on the type of sniping you want to get good at.

If you like to show off, then learn to quick-snipe. With alot of patience, and practice, you'll get the hang of it and excel. It can be very effective when you're good at it.

If you're like me, and likes to keep it simple and effective, learn to maintain concealment and score consistent one-shot kills. Start off by practicing with the hardest sniper gun you can think of (i.e. M-40 A1 with a medium scope, or 4x scope). Get used to how the crosshairs move in a figure-eight pattern when you first scope in while standing. Practice as long as it takes to score consistent headshots with this weapon. Once you're comfortable with scoring headshots, switch back to an OSOK like the M-87 ELR, and slap a high scope on it. Sniping with relative quickness will seem easy after that.

Remember, the name of the game is to eliminate the opposing team members. Don't worry about trying to "gain respect" from other people online. You're not playing for other people, you are playing for yourself.

If people have a problem with how you play, they can either leave or deal with it. With the "create-a-room" feature in this game, there shouldn't be anyone complaining about playing styles (i.e. Create a room, that says "No Camping/Quick-Scope Only" or "Run-and-Gun Only").

Bottom line. Just keep practicing, and you'll own in no time.

Regarding the above post, prone sniping, with a ghille in a bush is garbage.

Proning is when your most volnurable(sp) and plus you're a sitting duck if some spots you or they run into you. Quick sniping lets you scope in on many parts of the map to give you a better idea of whats going on around you. Furthermore, it makes you a harder target to hit because its a little more difficult to hit someone when they are jumping around all the time. also if they miss you, and you see their flash, you can easily quick snipe them if they are proned in a bush with a ghille suit.

I'll restate my opening phrase from my last post on this thread.

quick sniping> all

practice, practice, practice. Thats all I ever do anymore is practice quick sniping. Most of the time i'm in first person, so i dont have to push the up button twice. All you have to do is jump push up(if you are in first person) and try to aim at the target while you are in scope. Takes alot of practice for it to become like second nature but if you pratcitice enough you'll get the hang of it.

Quicksniping is a great tool to use. Personally, I am more of a patient, stealthy, give him no chance to know where I am sniper, but I've become pretty decent at quicksniping and use it when the time is right. The key to quicksniping (IMO) is learning to aim before you zoom in. Just like in real life paintball, people have told me that the key to a great shot is aiming before you raise your gun (sounds stupid, but you'll see). When I quicksnipe, I try to make it so that as I take the shot I do not even move my scope at all. All my sighting/aiming is done in first person, and the scope-in is simply to provide a 1/2 second accuracy bonus in which to take the shot. Another thing good quicksnipers must know, is if you miss, don't take another shot in the same zoom. My process involves
1.Locate
2.Lead (lead means to predict a target's movement and aim to intercept it)
3.zoom+shoot+zoomout

This way, if the zoom in, shoot, and zoom out are all done in one moment, miss or hit, you can immediately get back to dadging and jumping.
My usual routine in games when I snipe (and I've almost much become an all time sniper now) is to run around using quicksniping instincts, but if I find a am already stationary, I'll use the stealthy sniping. In other words, if I'm well concealed and hidden, I don't bother wasting my concealment by hopping up and quicksniping, but if I do need to move, I wont stop to take a shot when I see an enemy. [By the way, don't quote me on this and hold me to my word if you play with me, these are just some tips]
When you really look at it, quicksniping isn't really sniping, more like extremely precise RunNGunning.
A stealth sniper takes time to wait and depend on their cover, and hold their fire until the precise time at which their chances of success are peaked.
A quick sniper wants to knock the enemy down ASAP, to a quicksniper; anyone in their field of vision is a dead man walking.

The strange thing about me is, 75% of the time I snipe stealthily in cover, but in doing so I tend to act like a quicksniper in my aiming methods. I usually stay in 3rd or 1st person until I've actually spotted someone, then zoom in and prepare for the shot. I also like to be completely still and monitor my screen to pick up the slightest movement in the distance, rather than scanning around with the scope.

For an easy summary of what skills are involved:

Concealed Sniping: Stealth, patience, good judgement and self control of when or when not to shoot, a sense of cover and staying hidden

Quick Sniping: Great reflexes, a precise sense of timing, a good eye, the instinct to never stop moving, and the "no shot is too close" mentality

Hope I helped some people.
PS: If you can learn to quick snipe with something that isn't a 1 shot kill, there will be nothing in the world to stop you when you pick up an automatic.

I don't recall saying anything about proning in my last post. Maybe I should've clarified better, but I was trying to help him in regards to standing and squatting.

In regards to your statement about being harder to hit when jumping around. Newer people will have a hard time, but if you practice a little, it won't matter where the person is jumping to. You'll still hit him.

As I said in my last post. I'm not trying to "discount" quick-sniping at all. If you like to do it, then do it.

To each their own.

wanta know whats vulnerable to??going up against a M60 OR F90 with a sniper rifle...

at least show the respect for real snipers who use concealment, and stealth..

cause thats what i do, actually its what I HAVE TO DO in my clan, way my clans built, if your gonna run and gun GET AN ASSULT RIFLE, you cant go say sniping in a bush with a ghillie is garbage, how could you??thats what a sniper does..heres the differance

Stealth Sniper
1.stays undetected
2.provides support of advancing sqauds, and is good for clearing out an area(ex. get in the area undetected, elminate all tangos, and have a backup squad come in and secure the area, then move on to whatever your told to do..
3.being a stealth sniper..takes pateince..and alot..

Quick Sniper:cant really provide cover easily found, and more likely to be found cant really clear out a building

so ya.............no disrespect to ya..but overall i think Stealth Snipers get the job done..
