Practicing techniques, what do you like to do?

On games people ask me how i practice to get good, i kinda tell them to be patient play alot of respawn, dont be trigger happy, aim for the head, customize controler acceleration to your liking. Any suggestions for other newb's in the game and on the site?

Well all i can say is be very aggressive and constantly watch your back. and remember the second you go to take a drag off your cigarette or a bite of your sandwich is when you are the most vulnerable. at least thats how it is for me. :D

if u are watching an area, WATCH THAT AREA
the MOMENT u lose focus there is an enemy right there ready to kill u
as soon as u MOVE from ur spot u get sniped

if u are camping, camp, unless u are down in rounds and u need the win with 2 minutes left, but DONT GO ALONE
travel with a buddy unless u are the last one,
then just hope u have a silencer and are a good shot

Me and my clan like to play strategic as hell sometimes. In the lobby, we pick one us to be "commander". The commander uses the team message to tell everyone what equipment to use, and in the game commands the team. (if there's more than just our clan in a game we go to a differet channel in order to not bother the tohers)
Basically we do it just like the campaign, and we all listen to the commander, and if someone doesn't they get TKed. (we like to say "court martialled")

Here's a possible way to get you new guys "up to speed" in SOCOM 3:

- Try as many different weapon combinations in single player as possible. This would be good to do for the people who are really interested in ranking. You can experiment with ease without having to worry about getting too many kills (of course, you can also go to unscored respawn rooms).

- Once you get your weapon combination(s) that work really well for you, go to unscored matches online. See how your skills work against "real" opponents. I recommend practicing every type of online game, to get a feel of what the objective of each different type of game is.

- Practice, practice, practice. Never get discouraged if you get killed alot. There will be times when you face off with somebody, and they totally own you. Once you respawn, you face off with them again, and they own you again. Keep trying, and don't let taunts, victory dances, or bad attitudes put you in a bad mood.

- Start with "harder" weapons first. Instead of grabbing an F-90, or an M-203/GL-36, go for a regular M-16 with a 4x Scope, or an M-14 with a High Scope and Rifle Laser (just a couple of examples).

- Learn from your opponents! Pay attention to how they are rushing/sniping/driving/hiding/camping/etc... Don't be afraid to ask questions.

- Put yourself with the team that has the "harder" time on a map (i.e. Play terrorists in Devil's Road sniper map, Terrorists on convoy maps, or SEALs on Fault respawn). This will develop your skill, patience, reaction time quicker.

Remember, everyone was a "noob" at one point in time.

In S1, when I was still learning, i used to watch alot of players and how they play/react in different situations. I would spectate games alot and watch the player thats doing the best in that game. One can learn alot from watching other players, i.e rushing tactics, camping spots, teamwork, ect. When S3 came out, I also did the same thing. I feel it greatly helps. Even when you are dead, watch the player that is doing the best on your team. I also play respawns as soon as i log in, just to get warmed up. I basically stick with one gun and one combination for that gun and master it to where i'm comfortable with it to play with on a regular basis. Hk-36 and 552 own all. Thats my 2 cents, take it for what its worth. :D

Learn to use the enviroments to your advantage, rocks, walls, and learn the angle of things, like hiding behind rocks, remember that if they don't see you, you have a big advantage..try to get good with scopes and get them far away before they see you, thats my advice, and learn the spawn points too..thats about it. try out the m16 with a laser and thermal :D
