Dont know about through doors but I hit some one in the head with regular shot and they flew backwards! I was so pissed it didnt kill them! But they got back up and I switched to slug and nailed them in the groin!!! LOL poetic justice!!

I LOVE shotguns in S3! They are great for close range and actually have long range capability now. They rule in close range vs. Assault rifles since guns are innacurate on full auto now at close range and people panic and strafe like crazy as a result, which makes them even more innacurate. I swear today I was running at a guy and he shot a whole clip at me and didn't hit me once! I just pumped him in the face and kept goin. I think that with the m4-90 and TA-12 guage you get 5 slugs, but I could be wrong. I use those because for the added weight (hardly any), I like the fire rate better even though it isn't far from a pump. I use the slugs if I am running around and if I see someone camping. I think it is worth it to slug them if you have the chance, seeing as you can die if your aren't within range in this game. Shotguns are great if you want to hold down a tight place (aka the sniping ship in boneyard) and you slap a silencer on your favorite pistol and get a few kills to attract attention, then pump them when they come up lol.
also, don't you mean a laser on the 12 guage pump instead of a scope? Unless I missed something the shotguns can only have lasers and slugs.
theres a semi (the spaz-12 knockoff) but there arent any auto shottys irl so there arent any int he game(yes i know there are auto shottys, but they are so damn rare and unreliable they are neer used in combat, only for protection/cool thingy to have)
and i believe the regular shot is pretty small, it seems like theres 30-50 pellets in each one(i shot a wall) so theres no 00 buchshot. and a slug is basically just a 12 guage bullet.

the shotguns are nice... but those that claim they are stronger than Socom2 must be smokin some good buds..
I have seen numerous instances where I shoot someone w/ a shotty and they get up... and i shoot them again.. and they get up... and i shoot them again.. well, then they are dead.. really dead.
In S2, 2 shots was the most it ever took with the shotty... I have seen 2-4 shots regularly...
Although FACE SHOTS are still 1 shot 1 kill... and fun...
A slug round, is one solid shot, incased in the shell. The other rounds are 00(buckshot), in the shell. As others stated, the slug will reach futher to hit. You would shoot it like a rifle. The 00 spread out, over a long distance. The 00 shot, is like a .38 cal bullet. I think there are about 4-5 in each shell. I could be off on the count. A slug is all those, in one.
there are 9 little pellets in 00 buck actually, and if it were measured in a caliber it would be .729 caliber. A slug is basically like a bullet, as shotguns that fire slugs are usually rifled, they are more for hunting.
yea a slug replaces the normal ammo with a big ball like a giant marble instead of little bb's hitting you its a huge ball and its accurate...
ill try the scope idea out today...
