I'm basically a "sniper in training" right now, and have toyed around with all of the guns. What I don't get is why I see people saying the SASR or the SR-25 require so much more skill than the M87 or M82. I've used all 4 and have found it MUCH easier to kill with the SASR and SR-25. Sure a OSOK makes a kill easier...but so what? Isn't that the effect you're going after? And if you were actually in combat...what would you want? Something you had to fire 3 times for the kill, or once? And not only that, but you still have to actually get that ONE shot lined up. I dunno, I think all of them are very useful. Just don't understand the mentality of looking down on a gun/sniper that kills with one shot vs one that requires multiple shots.

me, i think that you should get used to using sasr or sr 25 w/ a 12x scope. because of its power(or lack of it) you will get better accuracy and then if u want u can switch back to the OSOK rifles and woop ***

or just quick-scope the hell outa people

The M-8 Assault Rifle does not come with a high scope. The M-8 series sniper rifles (M-87 ELR/M-82 A1) can be equipped with the high scope.

Also, the bipod is great if you like to prone alot. As long as you are prone, you only have to wait about 1-2 seconds for the scope to steady.

Remember, what works for someone doesn't always work for everyone. If it doesn't work for you, don't automatically think it's crap.

That's all about stealth. Since both the SR-25 and SASR can be equipped with supressors, and are powerful, they chose it.

If they're all about taking their enemy down fast, and aren't as concerned about being noticed, they usually use the one hit kill gun (M87/M82).

Here are some of my sugestions to use in some sniping maps...

SEALS:

Harvester - M87 with a High Scope only
Killing Fields - SR-25 with a Medium Scope and a Silencer
Cidital (or however you spell it)(tunnel level) SR-25 with a Medium Scope and a Silencer

TERRIORISTS:

Harvester - (ummmm... that black one) with a High Scope and a Bi-Pod (smoke grenades and a DEagle)
Killing Fields - SASR with a 4x Scope and a Silencer
that last one - SASR with a 4x Scope and a Silencer

Some people from my clan are trying to master the SASR with a 4x Scope and no silencer (I'm not sure if the're going to be able to do it...)

Post Want to become a sniper? read this
The best way to become a high ranked sniper is to start like this
Game Devils Road (great snipers place)
the game should be snipe no cross or no x (don't go to the other base) (they get angry)

get a sniper any kind and get a twelve time scope
and just learn from your mistakes

HINTS; While getting to your sniper spot jump around don't make it easy for the other team to pick you off, don't stand and shoot only if it is neccesary!
Aim for head and don't shoot alot if your in a place were people can get to you easy and your just starting off move around a lot go to one spot and kill a few then go to a new one and pretty soon you will be able to snipe with the bests (if you want a game just try to find me my name is shart1212) if you meet people and you or they want to join my clan don't hesitate to ask we always need some more snipers trust me you'll get better over time!!

KEEP YOUR HEAD UP AND NEVER GIVE UP

awesome snipers if you have any more to add please help people out!!! keep looking at this and sorry for the big letter but i want you to be good and i know how hard it is to start snipen for the first time and you will die a lot so make sure you playin respawn and not ranked!! GOOD LUCK
