Ah yes. That would be a good time on Socom. But I imagine it would be next to impossible to set something up with next-gen systems here, and CoD4, and nobody owning Socom anymore. It's even fun to think about a room full of people that know each other playing the game for what it is, a game.

It's actually full of people who are so upset that sniper rifles aren't an option, they grab an M16 with a highscope in the comfy confines of their ghille suit and build a fire in the back of their spawn.

It's not that big of deal, I take the opposite approach and whenever people are camping I look forward to finding them and if I do its a much sweeter kill otherwise I am killed by a camper oh well its a "video game".

I know that I have complained about this before, but the reason for all of the useless camping in this game is the ability to play every map as suppression. Most people think that as long as we stay alive, we can win this game.

Remember how in the first two socoms people camped because there was reason to camp?

Recall Enowapi. In that map (which was a breach) the terrorists camped inside the base because the seals had to come in to plant the bomb to win the game. The same strategy was used for Sandstorm and Sujo and whatever other breach maps there were. Sure, some guys jumped the wall and rushed the seals to keep them off balance. Others stayed back to protect the base with mines and fully automatic shotguns. That was a lot of fun. Do people camp in S:CA because they are protecting their territory in a breach? No, nobody plays breach anymore.

Think about the classic map Desert Glory. If you remember, DG was an extraction. The terrorists had to camp inside the little room with the hostages to keep them from being extracted. Remember all the great battles you had try to get those hostages out before the time expired and the terrorist were doing there best just to hold you off long enough to win the round? The same could be said for another favorite map, Fish Hook. The terrorist had to camp because they had to keep the seals from taking the hostages. Do people camp in S:CA because they are keeping hostages from being extracted? No, nobody plays extraction anymore.

We could go on and on. Nobody plays escort. Everyone plays demolition just like suppression. I will always stand by my statement that the Socom series went downhill when we were given the choice to make every map suppression. People only have to play the game for themselves to see how many kills they can get. They don't have to work together as a team. The way that you win the game is camp and wait and have more people on your side stay alive than on the other team. When you use camping as a strategy to protect you breach or to hold the hostages or to ambush the escort then it is useful and no one will complain about it. But when everyone camps because it is just suppression so we need to just hide and stay alive, it ruins this great game that we use to love.

reasons why you should camp.

1. if your up by 1 guy and their is 1minute left

2. your in a clan war

3. camping on the tie breaker (wether if it's the tie breaker map or round)


i hate it when im in a citadel room and as soon as round 1 starts kids start yelling on the mic.

"cmon guys lets all go to the red room"

bunch of "censored"

1. that gives you all the more reason to go out and kill the guy. stop making people wait when they clearly don't need to. when you're up a guy you work together to double team/triple team people so you kill them quicker, or trap them somewhere. even if they kill one of you you still kill them, and you're still up a guy.

2. why camp in a clan war? people have other stuff to do than play only 3 maps for many hours of the night. besides, if you lose a clan match it doesn't mean that you will die in real life. it's probably actually better that you lose one, that way you know what you did wrong, you played against better people, and you know how to improve from your mistakes, work on better strats, etc.

3. the tiebreaker is a tiebreaker. if you camp on a tiebreaker you just get another tiebreaker. just finish the damn map, stop being a ****in homo, get the **** out of your ***, and actually play the game how it's supposed to be played.
