Zipper has released the details of the patch.
Quote:
Greetings !
By now, you know that Map Pack #2 along with patches for SOCOM 3 and SOCOM: Combined Assault have been released. Here are the major items that the patches address:
Augmented the Cheat Detection system.
Resolved an issue preventing users of specific ranks from joining specific games. Any user of any rank should be able to join any game with the exception of the 4 Rank Specific Lobbies.
The R44M and the MM-1 are now available for Online play when using the SOCOM: Combined Assault disc on SOCOM: Combined Assault Maps only.
Resolved an issue which could cause text to overlap on the Order Summary screen.
Resolved an issue which could cause an extraneous Satchel to appear where the previous Satchel was planted.
There is now an indication on the HUD as to whether or not the Granade Launcher is loaded.
Resolved an issue which allowed a player to lay prone underwater indefinately.
Resolved an issue in Fault where Breach Points could be shot through.
Resolved an issue in which Weapon Stats would be displayed incorrectly within the Armory.
Resolved an issue in Tidal Fury which would cause a player to spawn at an inappropriate location.
Resolved an issue in Citadel in which the player could fall through the map.
Resolved an exploit which could potentially allow players to enter solid objects.
Adjusted the Lobby Filters to display more accurately, the results as entered in the filter preferences.
Removed the ability to "Zoom In" with a scope while the player is in mid-air to address "Quick Sniping".
Addressed an issue in which the fire rate of burst guns would reset after a player died.
Addressed an exploit within SVO which could potentially allow players who are not the clan leader to remove other players from a clan.
Addressed an issue which was preventing "Custom Loadouts" from loading correctly.
Addressed an issue which prevented users from adding players to their ignore list.
Addressed an issue in SOCOM: Combined Assault which allowed players to potentially throw grenades through solid objects in Multiplayer games.
Updated the Vulgarity Filter within the game lobbies.
Addressed an issue in Winterblade, Single Player, where the player could potentially become stuck.
Addressed an issue in which prevented Vehicles from respawning properly.
Addressed several minor text issues throughout both SOCOM 3 and SOCOM: Combined Assault.
Addressed some issues which allowed SEAL Weapons to be available to the Mercenaries within the armory.
Addressed an issue which could potentially remove the satchel from a level during gameplay.
Addressed an audio issue in which the "fire" sound effect would play continuously.
Addressed a graphic issue which would corrupt the headset icon causing a yellow line to display accross the screen during gameplay.
Addressed an issue which prevented M2 mines from being destroyed by any type of grenades or explosives.
Addressed an issue which prevented environmental and ambient sounds after the first round of a match.
Addressed an issue in which Taunt text would be displayed in blue instead of red when playing with a SOCOM: Combined Assault disc.
Addressed an issue in Liberation where the player was able to leave the map boundary.
Addressed an issue in After Hours where the player was able to leave the map boundary.
Addressed an issue in Echelon, Suppression gametype, in which some sound effects would not play properly.
Addressed several instances within multiplayer maps in which the player could become stuck during gameplay.
We hope you enjoy the updates!

I saw their post at the PS forums the day it was released but forgot to post it here.
Funny thing is, the day the patch came out, we had a glitcher on the team...
Taken with a cell phone, so it's not the best of quality.
You sure helped us out, once again, Zipper. :rolls eyes:

He might have been on before the patch came out?
Any way, back on subject, I think Zipper might still pay a bit of attention to Socom 3/CA. At least until the Socom(s) they're making comes out (2008). Since Slant Six is working on Confrontation for ps3 and I think the name is Tactical Strike for psp, and Zipper is supposedly working closely with them, it'll give Zipper either time to work on S3/CA or to work on the Socoms they're supposed to be working on. I hope they work on the ones yet to come out.

We were promised three map packs: the HDD maps from Socom 2, the group of classic maps from S1/S2.. and a set of all new, never before seen maps. When this was first announced I was mostly excited about the third map pack. Would anyone else buy these maps if they proved to be solid and playable?

In order to be online you had to of downloaded the patch. I heard the servers kicked everyone when it was being put up. He had already downloaded the patch.
Slant Six is indeed making Socom: Confrontation for the PSP. They also made TS for the PSP, which already came out.
Zipper is NOT working with them on Confrontation. Zipper is making Socom 4, schedualed for a late 2008 or early 2009 release.

Confrontation is for the PS3 and Tactical Strike is extremely different than the actual SOCOM series. It's more than a strategy game but I think it's boring because you don't shoot. On the other side, I was hoping the maps were gonna be free but guess not. I wonder how many people bought the map pack #2.

You know what I meant, Marv.
I've only seen a few rooms of MP 2. It doesn't look like many did.

You obviously either stick to one server or don't play too often.. because theres three or four MapPack2 rooms in almost every server.

I love a lot of the patch fixes.
Several Zipper didn't mention the blur on the scopes, the no shot text, and one word BACKBLAST.
