I'd rather pay $6 for some crack. It would go to better use.

Wasn't this supposed to come out over a year ago?
This would be a win for Zipper, but they released the maps after the death of SOCOM.
S:CA crucified the series.

I'm probably gonna get socom 4, but i'm not doing what i did with s3 and preordering it with overnight shipping.... man that was a stupid move.
And thank you irish kin for solidifying it in my mind that i'm not getting this map pack. Watching your video made me remember why i quit socom.

How did it contribute to the downfall of the game? I'm not here trying to start a whole debate about whether QSing is a glitch or not, or if it's realistic or any of that BS..I just want to know how it contributed to the downfall. I don't see people quitting the game because of it, I don't(didn't) see people leaving rooms that people were QSing in, or any of that..on the other side, I saw people quit the game because of all the camping, people left rooms for camping(I for sure know I did)..the only reason they patched QSing is because of these whiny *** babies that sit there and ***** about it, and most of the time it's 35 year old babies that whine.

Quick sniping contributed to camping, for one. It definitely helped bring Socom down, there's no question about that. Rooms would literally turn from assault rifles to sniper rifles because a few people were doing it.

I forgot to say "In my opinion."
I just did not care for quick sniping all together. After a while, that's all I saw people doing in almost every single room. It took a lot of the fun out of the game for me, in addition to the large maps + camping. Eventually, every room I went into ended up being either a quick snipe fest or a camping fest, both of which did not interest me. I was never really into it, and would have liked to see the game without quick sniping from the beginning.
Although it took a lot of people to complain about quick sniping in order to have it removed, I think it will be for the better of the franchise.

I put in my fair share of time to the game and can honestly say that I've NEVER been in a QS fest room..it was mostly all camping, and then on big maps sniping(prone sniping) and camping..but maybe I just dodged those rooms or something.
Either way, whether it be for the good or for the bad, IMO it's just way too late for something like this to save the game, or better the game. With all the people that stopped playing and moved on, some just don't play video games at all anymore and others have moved on to next-gen games..and speaking from first hand experience, playing a game like Halo 2(even though that's not next gen), Halo 3, and CoD4 and then getting off to play Socom makes the game look HORRIBLE..not necessarily the graphics, but just the way the game flows when you play online..no open mic, a good amount of lag(and not just people skipping across the screen lag, I'm talking people sponging even if they aren't skipping everywhere), and then the normal slow framerate, plus even slower framerate in certain maps or if tons of people are in the room..all are turn offs for the game especially when there's games out on next gen systems that are dramatically improved over that.

You probably dodged them because pretty much every single player was quick sniping at one point, whether it be with an assault rifle or a sniper rifle.
I also forgot to mention that Scuba made a valid point. Quick Sniping encouraged camping A LOT. People weren't going to run around or challenge a quick sniper in the open since they felt they would be at a disadvantage. As a result, they camped until they could get a safe shot off.

I sure you realized it, but I thought taking quick sniping out of the Socom series would better future Socom games. There is no hope for Socom 3/CA, especially since it's an older game like you mentioned.

Well it's better for future Socom series if you stand on that side of the fence, but with it being next-gen I'm sure they could come up with a better way to get rid of it rather than blurring the scope..I have no clue what else was included in this update, but common sense would say that less things to do means less time for the update to come out. The hope was already lost for S3, so they shouldn't have even wasted their time with this..

IMO it's a double edged sword..what you and Scuba said makes a very valid point, but at the same time reverse it and it's still pretty logical. Let's say you play a map like Harvester..MOST people sit back and prone snipe. So instead of just running around with an assault rifle, having to get close(closer) to prone snipers, and running in straight lines pretty much until you get close enough(you can strafe and zig zag, but that can only last for so long because you'll get killed by the prone sniper before you get close enough...unless you're that bad), it makes you a VERY easy target to hit, thus wasting your time because other people on your own team are staying back prone sniping, or because there's one guy on your team running around while 2+ guys on the other team are hiding somewhere so they can win the round. So you grab a sniper, and start quicksniping. You can kill from far away because it's a sniper. You can strafe and zig zag all you want, because you don't have to be out in the open for too long, just enough to get your shot off and hopefully kill the guy..1 less prone sniper, while you help your team advance further..
