People move on. This game was a hit ever since I was a freshman in high school (I am now a junior in college). That is an incredibly long time for a game to have a foothold in the market I would think. New systems, games and a new generation of players has come about so I would say that this game doesn't have much more time. You just have to wait for Confrontation to come out I suppose.

actually......
Today they released the much anticipated update and Map Pack2. I'm curious to see if it increases or decreases online activity. BTW. Easton, in y0ur face.

I don't think it was that anticipated because it took over a year to come out.

It was a good game for the time it lasted. I remember staying up overnight playing and going to school and sleeping, and coming back and doing it again, lol.

All I have to say is Blizzard during the day is sooo WIERD. I didn't think I would buy the map pack but I just wanted to see if maybe just maybe it would be alright. Too be honest it's pretty cool. A couple flaws though for 1 taking 1 year, and 2 after playing call of duty then going to a last gen system it doesnt even come close in game play.

Well, the site went from being all about Socom, to being all about all games.

Additionally, Socom 3 and Socom Combined Assault got real stale, real quick (especially once they took the blood out). Plus, how many times can you ask "which gun do you use?" or complain about glitchers or campers?

Then, as you pointed out, people started moving on to next-gen systems, which have some games that are serious competition for Socom.

I've played Gears of War, Rainbow Six: Vegas, Resistance, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2, Halo 3, and Call of Duty 4. They're all great, and Call of Duty 4 probably quenches that Socom thirst more than any other, but I still miss Socom every now and then.
