Coming Back

Hey guys I havent played Socom in awhile..I think im gunna come back over this weekend and play it again. How many ppl are online now..I know its lower than what its used to be and I know there hasnt been any new patches. etc. I really just wanna know how many ppl still play this game. And I'm beeing honest when i say this...Compared to online games on the 360..man Socom just makes me wanna come back...sure I had my fair share of online gaming on Gears of War Halo 3. etc, but I'm looking forward to playing Socom again.

I usually play on the weekends only and when I get on there's usually abot 10-13 thousand people on.

The average is about 8,000 to 10,000. It usually doesn't get any higher than 11,000 though.

I'm surprised that many people still play this. Are there still a lot of cheaters? I might start playing again because the COD4 servers are permanantly SNAFU.

Ther cheaters are usually in the regular unranked servers but in the ranked servers they're usually not there, or at least for me they usually aren't there.

That sucks. I haven't played ranked matches since my rank was lost due to inactivity. I was going to play mostly respawn.

I usually don't even get on to play in public rooms, I have some friends who play and find 3v3, 4v4, etc.

It's not a lot of cheaters. You might find a cheater here and there but you can still find some good respawns. I was just saying if you're going to find a cheater it'll probably be in the unranked servers.

I haven't played online in a year. Moved and just now got high speed. I got online just make sure my connection would work, there was bout 10000 people on. Gonna get back on as soon as I send this.

I assume the same crap with cheaters still goes on. And annoying little kids.

I have never played CA online, i got it right before I moved, and never liked playing the single player game. But I've read other posts here about badges. And that the scopes have changed and you can only unlock the R44 and a rocket launcher to use online. Am I right? What are these badges for then? Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but aside from just earning badges, do you unlock anything useful to use online? Somebody wrote that you can earn badges online, can you do it in a respawn?

I guess I'll do like I did with the other 3 SOCOMs, just get online and get killed until I figure it out.

I haven't been online since last summer b/c I was getting bored with CA due to all the cheaters and lack of attention by Zipper.
I have been playing COD4 and other ps3 games online and they just aren't comparable to SOCOM.

Here's my question, should I get the new map packs or just play without the new packs and wait for S4?????
