Sea Snipers Leave Socom

Well, after more than 4 years of dedication and intense battles, the Sea Snipers are leaving Socom.

Socom/Sony/Zipper had given us a couple of really good games in Socom 1 and 2, but ever since 3 came out, they started giving the community things we didn't want, not giving us things we asked for, and removing things we liked. Who knows what may happen in the future, but as things stand right now and based on their track record, we have moved on to greener pastures.

We had some great times with Socom and especially all of you guys/gals that have supported us and fought alongside or against us for the past 4+ years. I never imagined the amount of support and feedback we received from all of you over the years for our maps, the TWB, the 2 strategy guides, everything. It's really just been amazing and we want to thank all of you.

So, since we're not playing Socom, what are we gonna do? For the past 3-4 months we have been playing Rainbow Six Vegas on the 360. It's fantastic. It lacks the problems that Socom had that made us leave, and has been patched 3 times in 3 months as well as delivered a map pack with 5 new maps and 2 new modes. We researched the game, community, company etc for many months prior to it's release, and found a great fit for the SS with Vegas.

As some of you know, we have been running an underground league called the S.E.A.L. for the past 4 years. Started in 2003, the S.E.A.L. (Sea Snipers Elite Anti-Bomb League) has been a great success, and fielded some of the best clans in the business. We are migrating the S.E.A.L. to the 360 and RB6: Vegas and welcome all of you to join us Welcome to S.E.A.L. . We have revised the name to Sea Snipers Evade & Assault League as well. For those clans that have participated and won S.E.A.L. in the past, please feel free to now proudly display your trophies on your websites (click the Trophy Room link on the new site to grab your trophies if you lost them). The Sea Snipers would also like to thank all of the previous S.E.A.L. clans for maintaining comm silence about the league over the past 4 years, very cool.

As we open up the S.E.A.L. to the public and the 360/Vegas community, we will be scrimmaging new applicants over the next couple of months and encourage everyone to look us up and seriously think about joining us in S.E.A.L.. We would love to see you guys make the jump and join us. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me.

We're going to miss killing all of you guys/gals, but we're not really going anywhere. You all know where we are Welcome to the Sea Snipers so stop by the forums and don't be strangers. It's been a good run for us, and we hope we were able to help some of you along the way. We're going to continue our tour of duty in Vegas, but I'm sure we'll be seeing you online.

I did the exact same thing...I Never thought I would quit Socom but playing Rainbow 6 on the 360 i can not imagine going back!

Its been awhile, SS! Good Luck in all you do on the 360, maybe someday you guys will wander back to SOCOM if it becomes the excellent experience it once was. It's been fun SS, thanks for everything!

Being a long time follower since your maps in S1 and S2....thanks for taking time to makes maps and bring up the Tactical Whiteboard to our community. Much is appreciated from and your work. We hope you stay in tact with this current site, and update us along the way with your underground leagues and such.

Also, if possible in the near future post a topic if you maybe coming back for the next SOCOM. To me personally, you have helped us people out in terms of 5 Star Map Designs (Really mean it and I rarely reallly mean a few things too :))

So, goodluck with your future.

I don't play either. S1 was great never played S2 S3 was fun for a while SC was meh and S4 will probably be better but I will not get it.

I don't want to sound rude, but I'm glad you're leaving. This game is horrible, and I don't know why anybody would still play it.
