Login Failed

Since about 8 oclock last night I haven't been able to log in, I get a message saying Login Failed/Login Failure something like that, I disconnected the modem, made a new network config. I'm not using any sort of router. Does anyone know what may be causing this?

Edit: If it makes a difference I'm playing with a Combined Assault disk.

I'm not quite sure I understand, how would I open my ports? Why would I be banned?

i would need to know where ur getting that sign at....probably when its verifing connection....thats happened to me to....just try many diferent ways to reset ur PS2...idk
