rank has nothing to do with how good you are, rank didnt matter on 2 neither. If you had a gold cookie, you were pretty good.

lol, if you had a gold cookie, it meant that you were:
1. Better than the TOTAL noobs.
2. Not exceptionally good enough to be recognized with a Captain's rank.

Friggin EVERYONE was a gold cookie.

I was a captain in socom 2, but in socom 3 the ranking system is so screwed up most people except for the ones who cheat will be low ranks.

Yet another Rank thread huh? Well while I'm here I might as well give my 2 cents. The cheating and rank-up has ruined the rank system(not to mention the game) I do miss having those cool looking wings next to my name though.
To me rank in 2 was more proof of experience(unless you really suck) than anything else, and it is nice to play with people that know where to plant the bomb, guard ect. Bring it back right or take it away completely.
