Ever use the AG-94? Well if you do, you may have (I know I did) noticed that the 2 round burst sounds a lot faster than full auto.

I was just looking through some Spetsnaz training programs and found a reference to the gun.

AN-94 Abakan
Caliber: 5.45x39mm FMJ or JHP
Payload: 30 box mag
Rate of Fire: Single, Two Round Burst at 1800 rpm or Full Auto at 600 rpm

Looks like they went out of there way to add that realistic fact.

I highly doubt guns spray as much as they do on SOCOM. They added a few realistic factors, but not all.

Apparently the AG-94's barrel can actually slides in and out, absorbing recoil greatly. Because of this you can fire 2 shots in immediate succession without any noticeable recoil. (Maybe the reason they made it that way)

The AG/AN is so amazingly more advanced than the AK from the way it fires, its internal mechanics, and fire rate. The reason why the AK is still used as the standard rifle in Russia tho, is that the AG cost 5 to 6 more times to produce and the training of the soliders to use the AG cost more too. According to Wikipedia, only elite mititary groups and high ranked police officers use the AG.

I use the AG-94 alot as a makeshift sniper rifle with a med. scope. The 2-shot burst works just like single shot as far as recoil and gives you an extra nail in the air.

I've noticed that as far as sound effects go...they are inaccurate. On the M4A1, for instance, a quick pull of the trigger in full auto renders what sounds like 3 shots...but you only lose one on your ammo count.

I read somewhere that they meant to make it that way (the one shot sounding like two) becasue of some thing when you shoot a real gun.

Wow that's cool. I didn't know that. But i'm not really surprised to find this out. The M16 in Socom supposedly shoots faster than even an HK5(according to the Socom fire rate stat). But anyway thanks i'll be able to use that on the field.
