I realize that LCD tv's are better for gaming and all, however i still went with a plasma for other reasons. I was wondering if anyone else out there is playing socom on a plasma. What are the positives and negatives of playing socom on a plasma, that you've found. Are the controls delayed at all? I'm just wondering because playing on a huge plasma seemed really weird to me. Now it could be that I"m used to playing on a 20' and haven't played for a good month or so. However, I just what to know what other people have experienced with plasmas and socom

Its no different at all. I've played socom on about every type of tv out there and i found that it doesn't make enough of a difference that one would notice.

I would not play on a plasma though. Have you ever noticed that the health bar is always in the corner, and your name, and crosshairs. The thing is, if those images are on the screen long enough, they will be burned into the picture. What I mean by that is, lets say you play SOCOM a lot. Then you decide to play Madden, the crosshairs and health bar will be seen no matter what you play. They would even be there if you're watching TV.

SOCOM ON PLASMA=BAD!

I have a 42" Plasma, 106" Front Projector and two smaller LCD tvs (32" and 27") and can say that I enjoy playing the most on my Plasma. The picture is bright and the resolution is awesome, especially since I'm running the PS2 through Component Video.

On some TV's, yes. Recently I bought a 32" LCD flat screen, and there was a major delay between pressing a button and that action happening on the TV. The solution to it..buy a $2000 converter that will fix it, or just exchange your TV for one that will work..to find out which one has no game lag, just talk to an employee at the store and I'm sure they'll know EXACTLY what you're talking about and they should point out some TV's that have no game lag.

Anonymous Cuban have you had any problem with the crosshairs/health bar being burned into your TV? I've heard of this problem and am aware of it, however I'm wondering how long of a continious basis that you would have to play for items to be burned into your TV?
Another thing, i know you mentioned you have a plasma, what do you find the be the best aspect ratio for Socom, 4:3 16:9?

I worked at Tweeter for 5 years, the way to prvent burn in is this:
Rotate your viewing pattern, this means if you play Socom for say 6 hrs a day, make sure that you have the tv on regular tv for about the same amount of time, same with dvd's. Even if you are not home you can do this and you will never have a burn-in problem.

Yeah I've been told so many different things. Some people tell me that it's a major problem, and other people tell me that it's not that big of a deal as long as you don't keep the game paused for like 4 hours without playing it.
