Yeah does, In no way to I mean to flame you, however you are just simply wrong. There is a difference in the quality, I just to me buddies house whom of which has the same TV as I, with the component cables, set on 480p, and there is a big difference.
hey nits when was the ps2 released?..what about 7 yrs ago was lcd's around then no. the hardware used in the ps2 was intented for a standard tv.so your gonna get what the ps2. can handle with an lcd 480. the hardware being used today in xbox360.ps3. etc. are built for an lcd 1080i. so if your ok with playing socom on a lcd with 480p. rather then using the full potential of the tv. then you wasted your money buddy and yes i did say sharper and cleaner.cause that's what the cables do. so i'll enjoy using my 1080i because that's what i bought the tv for so i'm done with you run along and play your 480p. i suggest you play a xbox 360 game on 1080i and then your socom on 480p. and tell me how good socom looks again.

That was never a part of the arguement, and the PS3 is geared to 720/1080p not 1080i for your info tech boy. You can have 1080i, I'll stick with my 1080p televison. It has been said by everyone else on here that there is a noticeable difference for Socom on a widescreen HDTV via component cables. You sir are an idiot and obviously have no clue about anything remotely asociated with technology.

Just do what I do. Play the **** out of whatever tv you have and when there looks to be a problem just buy another one. If you cant afford to buy a new tv then maybe you shouldnt be waisting so much damn time on a game that you would burn out your screen.
I haven't heard any bad things from playing on a plasma except for the one everyone has talked about which is the risk of images getting burned onto the tv. You don't wanna watch a movie with ur girl on a tv that has a circle with lines in the center (crosshairs) or a bar that says _ICICLE_ (health bar) etc. That's all i can think of.
