I have a 46" LCD. S:CA and I believe S3 have widescreen options in them (I know S:CA does for a fact).

Flip that sucker on and enjoy a wider range of view that ups your pwnability.

Socom on widescreen with the progressive scan mode on makes a HUGE difference. I have a 56" Samsung DLP 1080p TV with the PS2 hooked up via component and it is a night and day difference over the previous TV. It's brighter, crisper and the widescreen range of vision works great. Hopefully this will help me get my damn kill ratio up, lol. If you have the right TV it makes all the difference in the world.

As far as burn in on plasmas goes there are some plasmas that offer a white wash function that will eliminate that. My friend has the new 43" Hitachi plasma and he can white wash the screen by pushing a button and it removes all burn in "residue." Hope that helps.

Do you mean Hitachi 42' plasma? Because I just got the Hitachi 42in plasma ultravision TV. If there is a white wash function I have yet to find yet. That would be great however if there was.

Then you decide to play Madden, the crosshairs and health bar will be seen no matter what you play. They would even be there if you're watching TV.

SOCOM ON PLASMA=BAD!

I thought that those were projection tv's...OR, are plasma/projection tv's basically the same?

From what I've heard about some LCD's is that they have a harder time picking up on fast moving objects on the screen. Plasmas I've heard do not have a problem with this.

I have an LCD tv and everything seems fine to me. i havent ever really noticed a problem with fast moving things. only thing that is a little disappointing is that lcd's cant produce TRUE black.

Isn't that because LCD's need flouessant(sp?) lights to light the colour?

Well...you can either buy a converter that will eliminate all the game lag(which is what you're problem is) that costs $2000, or you can buy a new TV..

I used to have a Sanyo 32" LCD and the game lag was horrendous..went back to the store(walmart), talked to one of the guys in the electronics department who knew exactly what I was talking about..recommended another TV, so I got that one, which is a Samsung 32" LCD. On games like Socom it works fine, no game lag at all,(atleast it's not noticeable), but on games like Halo 2 there's still a tiny bit of game lag..
