I use DSL and a wireless router (not wireless for anything but laptop), and its just fine. IN fact, when we did war i was the host, and it was fine. We have two computers hooked up, plus my Ps2/360. SO eat one, dsl is good. :)

Not really sure if this would work, but I remember when I played starcraft they had a latency factor that would determine if you could play in a room. They also had these little bars on the side of your name that showed how good your connection was. So long story short, this would be awesome and it would be even more awesome if the host could boot people in the game lobby.

That would be nice too see the person's connection speed/strength. I don't know about letting the host boot people from the lobby. I like the voting system and instead of giving the host the ability to boot people, all the players should be able to cast their vote on someone from the lobby instead of being able to just in the game.

I have gone back to the drawing board and I think I came up with a few solutions to some problems.

Lag is tough because of the varying capabilites of servers across the nation. However, the most logical and feasible option would be to create a "ping"/connection strength bar that is displayed in the lobby of every room. Every player would have their own bar which would contribute to a cumulative bar that judged the overall strength of the room.

Rank abusers are tough as well, because they turn normal features into loopholes. The 1 on 16 games can be stopped. Honestly, the game shouldn't start unless there is a fairly even amount on each side. Abusers will still abuse though, they will find a way. Therefore, Sony must dedicate a team to simply monitor stats and delete offenders. I'm sure they have something similiar in place now, but its not that effective.

Ok for fun sake...SPECIALIZATIONS
It would be additional to your rank and would consist of things like...."Demo-expert", "sniper", "hostage negotiator(for those who like to extract)". "Squad leader"(for people with a lot of MVPs.), and "Covert Soldier" (for people who can score kills without getting/stirring a reaction from the victim or anyone around."

This specializations would be performance based and would be similiar to the trophies that i previously mentioned. I'm thinking that you could even gain an in-game increase in an ability. Snipers would have steadier aim. Demo experts would plant/defuse faster, Covert soldiers could have an increase in speed and quiter footsteps or something. It may be complicated, but it'd be cool and create the feel that you really are earning something that matters.

Weapons/Customization

I think that you should be able to customize a weapon how you want...so
if you do not want a pistol....then you can have another attachment to your main weapon, or have another slot for grenades or c4 or w/e your little heart desires.

Personally, I think it'd be nice to have a IW with a front grip, high scope and a silencer...thats just NASTY. or the ultimate rush gun...An HK36 with a front grip, silencer and red dot...nasty as well.

I also think you should be able to CREATE...YES I SAID CREATE...your own character for online play. You could create your own seal and own terrorist that would be altered slightly by the region in which the map is played. This would also come in handy with the specialist idea previously mentioned. Your sniper would be wearing thick camaflauge and almost no body armor (light footed eh?) Or your DEmo expert would be loaded with Body armor...a helmet and the biggest f'n gun you can find. lol.

Well there are a few more ideas, i'll have more soon...I'm gonna think more about maps and online features.

O one more....how about scenarios?...Like...added pressure instead of just a deathmatch. For example, the Seal Team must acomplish task A, B and C, before D becomes available, D is the extraction. It would definitely increase the use of strategy amongst comrades

BAN QUICK SNIPING.

BTW, I can QS, been doing it for a couple years. I think it is cheap and silly. So, before you QSer's get your drawers all bunched up, I can QS, and I can kill other QSer's. The guys that suck at it, or don't care to jump around like a monkey can enjoy the game.


MORE ATTACHMENTS for weapons, like someone said, why not a front grip, silencer, and a red dot??


LOOSE WEIGHT AFTER planting mines. Why should my guy run like grandma after planting mines??

REAL FATIGUE & wounding. Why should a player be able to run at top speed for the length of the map? Why not slow him up after being wounded? Madden has a fatigue factor in the game. Makes it WAY more relistic.

LOOSE the rank system. Screw rank. It's useless.

FIX THE GLITCHES. Actually fight the code/mod disk queers.


Just few ideas from someone who has played S1-S2-S3 & CA for 3 years, several nights a week.

Yeah because QSing is what ruins this game, not camping or the million camp-friendly attachments, and making your person run slower over time will definately fix it.
