Linksys Wireless Gaming Adapter
Just wondering if anyone uses this. i just bought it yesterday, I made a new connection, did everything on my routers website that the book said too do, When i test the connection it says it works, but then it gets stuck at the DNAS and i get the -612 error. Ive check the boards and couldnt find any fixes that i havent tried. Ive called Sony and they hung up on me because he didnt know, and Linksys people hardly speak english so that was no help. Any help would be appreciated. Or if there is a thread up about this a link to that thread would help too. Thanks

Hmm, here's the way I see it:

If you're getting to DNAS it's obvious you're getting a connection to the internet. Problem is probably going to be your ports. From what I've heard Linksys is really good about there tech support. I'd suggest you keep trying that, or find the thread that talks about which ports you need open. Happy searching.

PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall

Find your router on that list. When you click on it find SOCOM 3 on that list and it'll show you what ports to open for SOCOM and how to do it.

Also the SOCOM 3 ports are the same ones to use for CA also.

I use this adapter currently.....more than likely its your DNS servers......the ones i use are 4.2.2.2 and 4.2.2.3 (these are kind of universal IP numbers....there is a way to find out your DNS ips on your computer but im not remembering how right at this minute.) the 612 error went away when i got my connection settings right....more than likely its your connection configuration on your memory card......btw the adapter has worked flawlessly for me since i have been using it.....and im going on 2 years with it....good luck man

2 years, huh? Wow, mine worked about a month, then turned to ****. I hated that thing, so I ended up getting a really long ethernet cable. Mine could not hold a connection for more than an hour and it was probably only about 50~ feet from the router. I would not recommend this at all.

you probably need to download a driver for the router you have now to let this one through.
