I have a Wireless Router do I need A gaming Adapter too?

I already have a Linksys Wireless G Router 2.4 ghz. I'd like to know if I can buy a card and plug it into the back of my PS2 network adapter to make it wireless or do i also need a Wireless Gaming Adapter. If so which Wireless Gaming Adapter do you recommend for DSL? How does the Wireless Gaming Adapter work is it plugged in thru your USB or wat?

Thanks for the help ahead of time.

if u have the slim ps2 u dont run the ps2 wireless.....u have to plug the cable into the back of the ps2......if u have the old ps2 u hve to buy a network adapter........u can go to any gaming store and ask for an adapter they will get u one that will work fine and then u plug into the ps2......the ps2 it self does not run wireless on a wireless network.

Since they didn't really answer your question:

No, you cannot buy a card to insert into your PS2's Network Adapter to make it wireless, you need to go with a game adapter, as you thought. Since you have a linksys router, it's a safe bet that you will have the least problems if you use more linksys hardware. My friend also has a Linksys wireless router, and he uses the Linksys wireless gaming adapter with no trouble. I suggest going with the linksys model.

The way the WGA connects with your PS2 is through the Ethernet (RJ-45) plug in the network adapter.

As for wireless being "too slow" with DSL, consider this. Your DSL connection is likely no faster than 2MB/s. Your wireless connection is speeds up to 54MB/s. The only lag you're going to get is normal Internet traffic or from other people leeching your bandwith in your house.

Thanks for the Help

Thx a lot fellas... I use my labtop wirelessly and it is much faster than my computer using cables. Wireless is faster when you have a speed booster. I price some and they are in the $100 price range. Ill have to get one.

yea all you need is a wireless gaming adapter. you should probly buy 1 made by the same people who make your router because itll be easier to setup. o yea and as long as the router isnt really far away or the other computers in your house arent using up your bandwidth you shouldnt have any problems and remebr to set your router to gameing mode
