Sony Just stole from Me
True Story:

I got home and I decided to play a little After Hours. Here I go to play and ...oh yeah...I gotta pay. So I go to Purchase, they make me type in a ridiculous amount of info, about 5 full minutes, and then WHAM - Enter answer to secret question. Problem, the question part is blank. I call Sony, wait on hold for 10 minutes. I get some girl on the phone who sounds oh so sweet. I describe the problem, and she cheerfully replies "Oh OK Sir. Just ignore that and pick anything". So I do, and so the problems begin!

CSR Reference Code 40 Transaction Declined

I call Sony again, again I wait on hold. THis time I get a very young sounding eager beaver who is all to eager to help, but needs to look his own name up before spilling it to me. He insists that the problem is, or maybe isn't the password, but maybe I should just try again and leave him the hell alone. He validates with his supervisor that I should just try guessing all of them until one works. I get off the phone with him, no further ahead but at least off the phone with him. I try a second purchase attempt with another possible Q&A I may have picked.

CSR Reference Code 40 Transaction Declined

This time I wised up, I called my BANK! "Yes sir that's right, 2 charges for $5.99 USD, both approved. Would you like the approval numbers?" SONY HAD THEIR MONEY>>>>>>TWICE ALREADY!!!!!

I call sony again,, this time insisting to get a supervisor right away. I got a supervisor named Nicholas. He insisted (and patronized me to death doing so) that I was crazy, and that no transaction could go through if it were declined and yadda yadda.....I let him go on until he discovered his error, and then he came back and tried blaming my bank for taking the money twice from me, and that Sony never actually "took" it yet, they only asked my bank to "Hold" it....WHATEVER!
Nicholas has now informed me that he needed to "Figure something out" and that he would have Mike Cybul call me within 24 to 48 hours to tell me if and when I can ever play these new goddam maps!!!!!!!

WHAT SHALL I DO??????????

well he is right, they didnt actually take your money yet. by the sound of it, it sounds like they are not handling it as good as they should. if the code doesnt come up and then you recieve an error, then how did you get charged. they should give you your money back and just try to purchase the maps, but check if the code is there first.

Spose you're right, but they did hold it on my card twice for one purchase....good thing I didn't bounce something else cause of it, like a payment or something. I just want to play and can't believe they don't have tech help on staff ensuring this thing goes smoothly, being the first time and all. If they had their stuff together, they woulda planned for this and been able to get someone up and running in less than 24-48 hours later. It's a frikkin Pilot project.

I really feel your pain and understand what you are going through. Sony is a little tech-retarted so it may take a while before everything works out for you.

Day 2 of no maps I am actually off today and had planned to play some of the new maps. Has anyone had success in getting Sony to fix anything? Any hope is better than none.

It makes me sad to hear that people have problems such as this. It makes me even sadder when they have to call Sony, who like every other corporation anymore makes the concerned consumer go through door after door after door and then wait some more to get some droid on the phone.

Nope sorry sure havent.....I couldnt even get on last night....was having difficulties with my network...so i just went to bed instead.....havent made up my mind if i truly want to purchase these maps.....I think it would have been nice of the Sony/Zipper joint venture to make medly rooms for the maps instead of having to go find a room named "NEW MAPS!!!" or something to that effect.....blah sorry got off topic .........good luck with your financial woes man!

Bahumbug I say to that. It's the principle of the thing. Lots of money in there to cover it, in fact Sony already said I will be charged the 2 transactions unless they contact my bank directly, so it is a Sony error.

On a positive note, I have now spoken with Paul, and his supervisor Craig from Sony Billing. What a dream! These folks are on the ball. Great customer service, great people skills, and they are intelligent people. Unfortunately we are no further ahead since Craig now has his manager investigating, and they will have to get back to me. He has suggested that they simply remove the 2 holds for me, or they are scheduled to process, and that I just not have the maps. I asked him if that sounded logical, he concurred it did not, and I pleaded with him to ensure this gets looked after. I will keep you posted.
