Well my maps finally work. YAY. Funny thing is that I suspect this has absolutely nothing to do with Sony getting their heads out of their behinds and fixing anything, but more to do with some other threads that I have read suggesting that if you keep trying unsuccessfully, the server just simply lets you in eventually.
If it was due to the fine folks I last spoke with at Sony, kudos to you!
Either way, this is over and I can play, and my sympathies to anyone else who has ever had to endure anything like this.!

Actually there always has been. I got S3 on day 1 and it was there.
