SmoothMoves, you need to purchase the maps then download them. Although it might not make sense it does because you are basically verifying that you have the maps.

Ok, ya the game freezes for me im using a flash drive lexar and when i download everything then i try to join a game and it says i dont have it downloaded so i put my usb mass storage on my comp and theres a file called socom3 i click on it and it says its corrupt and unable to open
anyone have a solution?

alright alright.. lets get back to the real problems at hand. Now, after letting my ps2 cool all day.. and trying the maps with the psp as the flashdrive.. it still freezes and reboots.. on all maps. I even tried to go the main menu of the game.. and it froze and rebooted! This doesnt happen with my other games.. so obviously it has something to do with the new patch. What it is, I dont know.. but if someone has a solution to this..please.. share it with us. I know im not the only one.

I recommend you to go buy a flash drive i tried using my ipod shuffle and it didnt work aswell as the flash drive. Now theres no problems, when i play theres no disconnects or freezes.

Really quickly, if i dled the maps already... and i go to purchase them... do i need my CC info? cuz in the news section it says you dont if you are already verified... but im verified and it keeps saying i need it... wut am i doing wrong?

new patch causiong someones socom to run in a loop
My buddies socom 3 wont go past the load screen after he downloads the new patch. it boots, says socom 3 in big letters, loads, and goes back to the initial start up screen and keeps doing it. once he deletes the patch, its fine. is anyone else having this issue.

That is what originally happened to me. So, I just put in my cc info. I'm sure it will be just like the verification process, which they dont charge you anything. If you notice it says $0.00 for the maps.. so yeah. But once i put in my cc info, it worked.. as far as downloading goes. |

I am having a similar problem. I D/L the patch, fine, then I D/L the new maps, but after 10 seconds in every new map, I get booted back to the initial loading screen. The new maps have been out for 2 days, I have not played more than 30 seconds of them. ( Alittle differant than your friends issue but similar in the reset loop it seems to be on ) Very frustrating. Last night I redownloaded the new maps, got to play 2 rounds, thinking my problems were over, then the boot 10 seconds into the next map. Iam wondering if I should redownload the patch

I would assume it's the memory card, since you can't download the patch to anything else. |
