Im a System Analyst working for a large college, and my current project is Identity Theft, and the removal of SSN as a student ID. Break-ins do occur regularly. Just watch the news: The Veterans Office, AIG - American Insurance Group, DOE Department of Energy, Ohio State, Nuclear Regulatory Agency.
Your best bet is to use a Pre-paid Credit Card.
If Sony deletes the CC number after 3 months, then i should be able to register a new name using the same CC. I'll try that tonight.

I was going to say you should be able to use the same card after three months, and I see Evil Merlin's going to try it tonight.

Thank you for backing me Evil Merlin. As I stated before, my background is in investment management, not computers or software but I have enough common sense and awareness of current events to know that hacking is very possible and to think it won't or can't happen to a large company is just being naive. Again, if you read my earlier reply I had an attempted hacking just this past week but some people didn't believe me for whatever reason, maybe they just didn't want to accept the fact that they were wrong. Whatever, I guess I am guilty of that from tiem to tome

well if and ive said this before but people are capable of hacking into the cia's whatever they use and steal info etc. (the chinese do it saw on TV) then hacking a ps2 game mainframe would be a piece of cake, but if the person is so bored and feels like getting alot of money he can and he will. but the chances are slim to none! but i dont care im not verified !!
oh but edit-yes they probably have security measures like if it finds someone whos not supposed to be on it will eaither dump everything or transfer everything to a different file or w/e srry im not the best computer person...

Yeah, but does the CC give all the information for him to buy everything? I think he needs more information.

The information that you enter is deleted, as I stated before. Sony told me that only on thing still remains. They wouldn't tell me what, which really ticked me off.
Like someone said before, just use a Pre-paid credit card. That is the safest way to go.
