What's the deal with spray firing?
I don't know about you, but I seem to get a lot of kills when I spray. But I still don't do it because it ruins the game for me. Everything feels so automatic if you spray like all you're doing is holding down a button and hope one bullet hits a guys head. All luck then, absolutely no skill. I challenge myself to hit a head shot all the time with actually aiming. I understand a lot of people love to spray, but don't you find it boring  ? Tell me how you feel about spraying.

I like killing. I'm not training to become a navy seal, and even if i was, this game wouldn't help me become one. The only thing I like more than killing is staying alive.
I don't spray, but I'm sick of "no skill" and "noob guns". If you're playing this game to raise some sort of imaginary skill level, you need to apply yourself in an area that's more useful.
I play socom when I'm too f-ing tired to do anything else. I'll use an F90, IW, grenades, and about every other damn thing. I'll use the IW, RA, and M14 in Socom II. If it's not a "no explosives" room, I'll use 203's if that's what people are using.
Run-n-gun rooms are largely for little girls, IMO, because they're full of whiners. If you don't want to get killed 4 seconds into Fault small with a grenade, then don't go through the damn tunnel. The only map that this doesn't apply to is Tidal Fury, because dying as a terrorist is usually just luck of the draw. Any other map though, and you have no reason to complain.

Well not everyone use this game to raise their skill. But to those who play competatively, I don't think they use spraying very often even though you can tell most people do. Some people look at this as a simulation other than a last resort for fun.

People that are not good at the game spray because it's the only way they cang et kills. They can't actually aim, so they just hold the trigger and swing their crosshairs around.

I agree. I don't like playing unless it's fun and kills are only a small part of having fun. It's nothing exciting to get lucky and randomly hit a guy. If you can take him out doing something that takes talent, like pointing at and hitting him in the face, then it's very fun.

total noob. if you are just playing this game to play, then why does it matter if you die quickly or not? camping just to stay alive is weak. camping with the bomb for 30 sec to give your team another chance at victory is a different story

YAH!!! discombob is back!!! nice to see you again. Spraying is for the rambos that cant get a kill by using skill.

That's why I like pistol rooms although you'll get a stray m18 in it but I'm not going to get into that.

I only spray when I have a clear shot on someone, but in a firefight, you are moving around here and there. Your crosshairs will expand if you spray and it will be pretty hard to get the kill. That's how it is for me anyways.

Spraying is part of the game. Much like camping, F90s, M203s, and Guile suits. Nothing should be complained about or stretched out and called a "newb" tactic or weapon. I believe the entire purpose of this game is to use all weapons, vehicles, and equipment at your disposal to eliminate the other team by any and all means necessary. In that case I am going to do whatever I do best to take out the other team. If that involves a spary fight at close quarters, so be it. I won't feel like I cheated the player I just killed. He had equal opportunity to kill me and my other teammates. I just got to him first. Although I find precision shooting from a distance away from my target to be more effective on most maps, I will start to hold down fire and aim for the upper chest and head in close quarters. Absolutely nothing wrong with that.
