A Room of Your Own...

What's up fellow Socom-aholics? I've got a weird situation here and am wondering if anyone else has experienced it themselves. Here goes...

I've read plenty of threads regarding lagging out of a room and ending up in the lobby, but what i'm experiencing is a bit different.

I'll be playing in a room, let's call it RunNGun, gettin my kill on (or death on) when all the sudden the clock will stop running and when i hit select to bring up the list of Terrorists/Seals i find that i'm the only one in the RunNGun room; all other Terrorists and Seals have disappeared from the list. I have to either abort the game or go kevorkian style on myself with a grenade to get out of the room at which point i can then rejoin it and continue killing (or dying) until the next time i get "booted" to a room of my own. Very frustrating, but i get by...one day at a time.

Have any of you experienced this yourselves and/or resolved it? If so please let me know as i'm very interested in what the community has to say!

I've never heard of that, but I'm sure it's just lag. Strange things happen concerning lag, so I wouldn't be surprised.

laggg all lagggg this happens when you lag out you go into almost like a new room. especially happens from lagswitches. chekck your internet

nyways ya its just ur connection, never heard of it happening w/o lag switch but u just must have horrible connection :(

Yeh it is prob lag, lag can do alot of strange things to socom!

I hate lag, yesterday I was gunning on the TOW while another guy was driving. We just come out of SEAL spawn 2 on Devil's Road and he jumps out, then I start lagging and the next thing I know the TOW is on top of the mountains with me still inside. My mic shuts off, I start saying "cover me" to get my team's attention but I wasnt even officially in the game yet I could see real-time action, I could still shoot the TOW and everything, just not get out of it. I had to get in the driver's seat and just sit holding accelerate for about 5 minutes, randomly wiggling the steering. Eventually I fell down where I was on ground level but inside the mountain. I then drove out of the mountain where I was lagging heavily still. Then I got out and the TOW just dissapeared. After that I was back in the game with all my stats I had before and my mic working again. It was the worst lag I have ever seen and I can guarentee I wont see that again.

Lag is the cause of alot of things, getting booted from rooms, even flying to the top of a mountain in a TOW.

PS: When that happened, I noticed that guy that was driving had left the game just after he had hopped out, could it have still been what you might call his "spirit" still driving the TOW or was it just a major lag issue overall?

I've had this problem quite a few times. I'm experimenting with a new wireless adaptor so I can play upstairs when the router is downstairs instead of getting a big long ethernet cord. But yes, if you have a wireless adaptor like I do just move it around a bit and see what gives you the best quality. But if you have ethernet, its just lag.
