Mic works, But not online!!!!
Recently ive been finding out that there have been days that my mic works online then it doesent, or i have to reset my ps2 then it works. And now it doesnt work at all accept for single player, online doesn't even recognize the mic now. ive been using the same router for the last 4 years and ive hadn't had a problem untill today. Yes the mic has worked online since when i picked the game up in october, and doesnt work on socom 2 either. Ive opened up all ports on my route, still nothing. But works if i just hook it up to my modem, not to sure what my router did to deny the mic??? Sooo any suggestions would be great.

Buy a new one? Seems like you have covered everything you can do. Time to get a new mic.

If you know what the problem is, then find the solution. Which would be to buy another router, which isn't really a big deal. You can find a good router for a decent price.
If you want to try a sticky then here is the link http://www.socom3.com/showthread.php?t=46231

ive have exactly the same problem as you. my mic works offline but not online, it used to work, i can see when other people speak but just cant hear them.
Even though ive had the same router, like you, and it used to work, we probably have to manually open the ports as described here:
http://www.portforward.com/english/r...4G/Socom_3.htm
ive havent tried it yet but i will soon and tell you how i get on.... hope this helps

I know exactly what it is, and it is obvious from the title of the thread:
ITS YOUR CONNECTION, NOT THE HEADSET. You talk about your router, but if anything its your signal strength coming into the house. I had this problem, my headset and internet connection was fine for about 2 years and one day it wouldn't work. I tried every trick in the book, I even bought a new router. Finally, I called my ISP, and they came and tested my signal. They told me that overtime, the signal strength coming into the home can be weakened or interfered with. Call them up and have them test your signal, and if its a little weak, they can strengthen it. Since I have gotten my signal fixed, I have had the best lag-free gaming. So really, even if your headset does work online, I recommend that everyone do this because it makes your connection so much stronger, therefore resulting in better gameplay, less lag.
