I agree. The IW is supposed to be some crazy, dominant weapon but I can't use it for shyte. I love the M4 though because it has to be the most versitile weapon in the game--close-quarter, mid-range, quasi-sniping--you name it. It also has the most consistent accuracy and power at various ranges.
Although, you may find that, with your style of play, you like the IW better because of its quick fire rate and long range accuracy, or for whatever reason. Just try them all out--you may find you do better with a totally different weapon. And dont forget the under-rated SMGs.

I prefer the M4A1. I cant use the IW worth a damn and for me it seems to go into the mode where you dont think your firing more than the M4A1.

For me it depends on what level and what map style I'm playing. If I'm on Killing Fields (Convoy) then I'll use the IW (High scope, #1 Silencer); even with the Silencer your range is still 90-95 effective; so you could sit on the ledges and snipe across most times depending where you are.

The M4a1 is fairly accurate even on full auto; just don't be scoped in and know where to aim ahead of time and judge for movement.

personally on seals i really like the HK-36 its accurate decent range and can make the terrorists into swiss cheese at close range!
on terrorists i have bonded with the new and improved 552 (way better that the S2 one) but all you can really do is try different combinations on different guns to find what you like

on seals give the HK-36 with a front grip and the longer supressor a try
on terorrists give the 552 with a front grip and supressor a try

i can guarente one thing you wont be disapointed with the 552 its deadly and extreamly accurate

see, the IW is great for longer range shots, and maybe 3 burst rounds. but if u get in a close quarters fire fight, u wont have as much success as the M4A1. the IW has a bit more kick to it, making it not as acurate full auto as the M4A1. but then the drawback to great acuracy to the M4A1 is the shortened range. its all user preference. i just stick with M4A1 or m14 or i straight out snipe.

i personally really like the iw front grip and laser for evey map i do really good with it and i will use m4 front grip and silencer to i think they are both really great guns for any job just try wat u think is the best.

M4A1 is a lot bette than the IW i think, the dub is to heavy. The M4 is light accurate and has a damn good fire rate. (use it with a front grip and suppressor 1)

In my personal opinion, I would appose the M4A1/SD. For the main reason, it's an excellent weapon to use if you're quite new to Socom, and it's fairly adaptable too. Not to much recoil, not to much throttle when you just want to never stop shooting til' your clip is empty. The crosshairs always settle right back down into the same spot where you let the first bullet jet out of the barrel. So, by all means if you decide to use the IW-80-A2 go on ahead, but that weapon can never top the M4A1/SD.
