rank doesnt mean ****, our clan is mostly buttersticks and a few lieutentants, and we beat clans that are cookies, admirals, etc. The only admirals and cookies on our roster even admit to ranking up. So, y worry about it, if you are an admiral you just get called a "rank up"

To get back positive you would need to have great accurcey percent, more kills then deaths all the time, no friendly kills, lots of rounds won with game wins and some luck.

Like people have said, a majority of the people playing are butter sticks, so if your shooting at them all the time your ranks isnt going anywhere. From what I understand is that shooting people of higher rank is the best way to move up in ranks. I never see enough cookies or stars to pray upon so therefore I don't care about rank. Nobody should blame themselves that their rank is going nowhere, blame poor game design.

Half truth. Also blame the legions of rank up noobs that waste their lives away in escort rooms talking about how 1337 they are.

The design of Socom 3's rank system is great in theory. You are awarded points based on your performence, your team's performence, the size of the game and the players you oppose. The ranking system then calculates your total points and gives you a rating. Based on your rating score, and how it compares to every other player on Socom 3, it awards you a rank.

Because there are so many rank ups, with impossible rating scores, the ranking system is crippled. They have successfully askiewed the key formulas that determine the ranks of Socom's majority.

Thus, an evaluation system should be created to identify those who have ranked up, and all should be banned as well as everyone's ranks/stats reset.

I discounted the rank-up-retards because I'm at work and it would of required much more typing. Wonderful explaination by you Nun the less.....

I agree it's the Rank Ups that's killing our ratings. I have 169 more wins than losses and I am still in the negatives it really doesn't matter to me anymore. But I would like to see them reset all disconnects and freeze them at zero if possible. Keep all Kills and Deaths the way they are and Friends/Clan list the same. Meaning I don't want them to reset all the ranks at zero because even though there's alot of rank ups out there if they reset all disconnects your rating will be better and that will be what you have earned. Until then I will continue going from Butter Stick to Lt. Junior Grade and be happy that I will probably never get any higher unless they take all disconnects away.

Yes the ranking system is messed up and there is no way to stop it. I am a 100 % legitimate 3 star admiral. I only have a score of 1060 (that's only 60 more from the day i started) I do not play a lot and when I do, because of the problems with joining ranked rooms and just not wanting to deal with waiting 5 minutes for a round to start, I play in unranked respawn so I have been able to maintain my rank. I have also been lucky to not be hit with the disconnects bug (I only have 20). Not taking skill away from me, I am a very good player and I have been as low as 850 and from 850, despite the problems with disconnects I was able to rise back to 1125 before falling to 1020 and rising to 1060 after not playing a couple months. So it is possible to gain rank if you go on a good streak. However, everybody on my friends list who is ranked above a luietenant does not play the game anymore. One of my friends who is a better player then me and plays a lot was ranked with a score of 1700 100% legit. Since the reset, he has since went into the negatives simply because he plays so much and recieves so many disconnects.

So in conclusion, you cannot play this game often in ranked rooms and maintain a steady rank. Everybody around me either does not play anymore or plays unranked. Rank ups are AS serious of a problem because they only constitute less then 1 % of the entire registered players (Like the top 2000 or so) However the problem is the ranking system is so bottom heavy, rank ups take all of the 5 star admiral spots and a majority of the 4 star admiral spots. There's only about 3-5000 5 star admiral spots, where as there's more like 100,000 butter stick spots (not exact values just guesses). A ranking system should be bottom heavy, but a ranking system should allow players to increase their scores because the majority of the high ranks are people that do not play anymore. THIS is the problem with the ranking system.

But I do agree the premis of the system is good and I think it is mostly the rank ups fault if you took away all the rank ups our stats would be were they belong!

Yeh i'm with the ranking system,whats up with it.Socom 2 took 3 weeks to get to lt.c and No matter how good I do,recently played the best game I ever have and went 26-6,ya for me,and my rank worsened.What the hell jingle bells?You cant win no matter what you do.The only people with high ranks anyways earned them from the transfer from enlisted cause its not possible to keep it or especially get it back up again without cheating or viagra.I know cause we had Lt.'s in our clan and now there butter sticks going under and we are all good players,so get a new credit card play the enlisted ranks well,then never play a rank game again.Otherwise ya have fun as a butter stick for your whole existance.lmao its not so bad pretty soon there wont be anything high than buttersticks,**** look at the flag grade rooms and you tell me just according to how many people play them hahaha.
