So wait. Even if you have the DNS numbers, how can you "put them in" to get into the server? I mean where do you put them in? Even with an IP address, do you use your comp. or the PS2?

You would have put them in while setting up your connection on the PS2. It doesn't matter anymore though because they've taken the server down since everyone found out about it.
Pretty much all you can do is enjoy the vid until the actual map packs come out.

Yes. You just edit your network configuration and there's a choice to manually input it. That was how you could get on some other server on S2 way back when, maybe International before they made it available to everyone, I'm not sure...

And when you manually put in those numbers, would you still see the SOCOM server that you usually go to, or just that secret one? I know it really doesn't matter, but in case something like this happens again, it would be fun to "explore". Thanks for the info btw, really helped out 
**EDIT**
And did/do you need both the primary and secondary DNS numbers, or did you just fill in the primary and leave the secondary blank? If it was just DNS numbers, did you leave "IP Address" on Auto? Any info is greatly appreciated

This is what you had to do....

Main Menu, Online, Edit Configuration, Manual DNS: Primary is 160.33.44.106...Leave secondary blank, Save, Restart Ps2.......Main Menu, Online, Logon and when it comes to universe join the ca server 2.1, then download patch,Restart.... Then Main Menu, online, logon and join 2.1 again, put in a name and your in............ Then go to socom store download the maps, then purchase (doesnt cost money you just need a valid credit card, debit card, gift card)... I used a giftcard that only had 65 cents on it... Then you should be good to go. If it says your name isnt verified then re put in your cc where you verify your name.

And so the IP address was left on auto? In the universe, was there only one server to go to? Also, I heard the news was leaked on PSU, is that true? I appreciate the info man, it's really cool how people "snuck" in 
Oh, and I heard the people that got in are going to be charged, is that true? I'm thinking if they used their CC, they can bill them through that, but like your gift card won't matter because it's 65 cents!

You change it to manual. There were three servers, only the first one would work though. No idea about the "news" on PSU.
I haven't been chraged and it's been almost a month, nobody I know that got on has been charged.
