I guess you could do that, as I've done that before...
One problem that I find. Vegas takes a while to do so, and I don't have the time to spend 30 minutes rendering a file.... That's why my previous files were about 200+ MB in file size.
This way is the way that I personally had gone through, and it works for me. But there's no need to have just ONE way up for people to read. If one doesn't work, try the other.
