What Otter said is correct. When I record I usually get off AIM so my video doesn't drop frames.

Also, if you are recording, and the preview is laggy, it should be fine. When I'm recording and I look at my computer, the video lags, but when I watch the video, its perfectly fine.

Thanks for the input, fellas'. I tried it, but still an extreme frame rate drop. Could it possibly be the USB extension cord I'm using to get the dazzle to reach my TV? I made this quick test vid to show you exactly what I am seeing. Mind you I AM using a Dazzle 90, and the Universal cable as mentioned in the original post.

You said you have a brand new computer so I doubt you have a 1.1 USB Hub which would case dropped frames. What type of capture card do you have. That might be the problem.

Nooby Pan.

Scy, what are you using to capture (software) and how long is the extension cable?

So far I have been getting the problem using Windows Movie Maker to record. I do own Sony Vegas, however when I go to "Capture video", a box pops up telling me that the Dazzle 90 could not be loaded.

Oh, and it is a 10 foot USB extension cord.

Do you know the specs of your computer? More than 500MB of RAM? Does it meet the minimum requirments for the dazzle and its software?

Vegas does that for everyone, and the 10 ft extension could be causing the problem. If you can, try to find a way without it, but don't change anything else. I don't know anyone that uses an extension, but that's my only guess right now.

Ok man, thanks alot. I ordered a laptop off Dell a few days ago, so once that gets here I can pitch the extension. I appreciate the responses.

Ok so I bought a Dazzle 170 today but I have some problems. For one it won't work in Windows Movie Maker. I click on capture video and it says something like "The device is not responding. Close any other application that is using the device and try capturing again."

However WMM is the only thing open. HOWEVER when I go into Stuido 10 the software that came with the dazzle I can record fine. But then comes problem number two. The quality is crappy. I mean you can see the video but it is really bad. I am not useing s-video so that may be it. However when I put the yellow cable into my TV I have crappy quality on my TV.

I really want to use WMM not that other software because its confusing. If anyone can help me out it would be much appreciated.

Something like options on the program (Pinnacle) and press "Highest Quality," hopefully somebody can take a screen shot, I can't right now.
