Cord Pulling

I was playing a citadel the other day, went about 6-18. The game ends, we go back to the Team View screen, where you can switch sides, and people start talking about how some guy was cord pulling cause he walked right into a nade and got shot in the head, but didn't die. Turns out, they were accusing me. I went 6-18, was the worst guy on the team, and they think it was me.

I can understand why.

On my ethernet cord, the two plastic clips that keep the cord from sliding out are broken. Sometimes I end up disconnected from server cause the cord gets pulled out. Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix it, without buying a new one?

Thanks.

You're just lagging from a poor connection. By the sounds of it your cord is disconnecting you and then reconnecting so you have basicly have a lag switch. Either that you just have a ****** connection.

Try using rubberbands or tape to secure it. Or fold up a small piece of paper and wedge it in with the cord so that it stays in there.

I've used tape before, and it has worked for a limited time. After a while, the tape doesn't secure the Ethernet cable as tightly and you have to keep applying new tape. Although, I guess that beats buying a new cable.

The headache you get from getting disconnected over and over might be worse than paying $10 for 10' of ethernet cable.

Alright, I guess I'll go with OME6A's paper wedging idea. I suppose I'll need a large piece to go above the ethernet and a small one to bo below. If that doesn't work, I'll just get a new cord. Thanks for the replies, this really helps.

After trying this out for a few days I've reached the following conclusion:

Paper wedging works to a degree, but the paper must be "fine tuned" to the right size, and make sure you wedge the paper in when the cord is all the way in.

I guess I'll stick with it a little longer, see how it goes. The problem with tape for me, is that my modem has only one jack, so I have to interchange between socom and the internet. I can't split the signal either, it's already split enough and would get too weak if i went any further.

Any other suggestions?
