Tournament Idea

I was just thinking about how hard it is to become an Olympic Athlete and to win a medal when I was swimming. Then this thought collided with Socom somehow...

Result? An idea that I hope can eventually have the same effect on the Socom community that the Olympics have on thw world. A Socom Championship Tournament make no mistake this is no regular tournament. Sure there are brackets and the way it is carried out is the same. But only the best will compete in the tournament, and to qualify for this thing would a an accomplishment in its self. Any clan that qualifies for the tournament is considered a "Championship Standard" clan

I understand that we would need some sort of (high) standard to set the best from the "good". If anyone has any ideas as to what can be used to qualify clans for this tournament would be great.

This tournament would probably happen every 2-3 months. When I get some feedback on what you guys think of this and if you like it all...Ill lay down the details.

its a cool idea, for starts u could have clan wars like ppl already do, and then select winners from a ladder? blah, iunno, thats my input, so im done.

I don't think there are enough clans on this froum to do this. How many clans were you thinking of?

Well in some real-life tournaments people have to get sponsored to play. My friend's Call of Duty clan got sponsored by Red Bull to play in a tournament.

That would be a good idea, but I see two major problems with this already. One, I dont think there are enough clans that will participate in it and show up for a match. Second, if there are not a lot of clans, and the selection process is at high standars, then that would leave even less clans then what you started with. Maybe if we were able to get clans from other sites, but the overall tornament would be sponsered by s3.com. I dont see this happening unless we get enough clans to participate. If enough are, then this would be an awesome tourny.

How about this. Instead of clans. Just squads of people. I dont know if u want to pick them random some how. Or the squads are pick by the people themselves.

It would probably better if the squads picked their own players. Its kind of like picking teams or groups in school. No one likes to get assigned groups.teams, they like to make them. Although it might be interesting to see what random group of people wins a tourney...

Random wouldnt work this is supposed to be the "Olympics" of Socom. You cant just throw a bunch of ppl together and expect to do well right off the bat. Hell, they may not even be compatible

Yeah they would have to pick their own teams... Random people would, in a way, all be luck on who gets who.
