Scuba I directly agreew with every word you've said. I too am addicted to the AK now. In CA, with the BETTER HIT DETECTION (don't argue it people), it is great. Even on SEALs I'll drop whatever to equip an AK.

I've started using the AK-47 a lot more on certain maps. I'm not a big fan of using it for more than close quarter work, but I've almost always have a med scope and laser attached - just in case.

I like how, much like the real thing, it has such a distinct sound. Nothing else sounds quite like it.

I agree, it has a very deep sound.

HEY SCUBA STEVE ! I used to roll with you back in the Socom 1 days, son! HOLLA.
This kind of post would be best suited for a PM... I'll let it stand for now, seeing as you're new to the site. -Creep-

The AK is a great gun, and I use it almost exclusively as a terrorist, merc, whatever. I started using it in S2 and while I would bounce around to other guns (STG, 552, etc.), I always come back to the AK. I love the sound it makes, I love its knock-down power, and as it was mentioned before, ammo can be found almost anywhere! I would have to rate it as one of the best guns for the entire series, not just currently, for the terrorists.

When I used to play SOCOM, most people in ASQ would tell you that I would never be caught without my AK. At first, I only played w/ the M16.... But then after a while, the AK became the gun of choice 4 me.

In Socom 1, the AK and the AKS were the main assault rifles for the terrorists. In Socom 2, it was very rare to see one used. Socom 3 had a slighly higher number than S2 did, and CA has about the same. If Zipper continues with the AK as they are going now, it will soon be back on top for the main terrorist assault rifle.
I wouldn't want this, however, because I enjoy usually being the only one in the room using the weapon.

Yeah, Scumba, I know what you mean. (I mist-typed Scuba, and put an "m" in there for some reason. *shrug* I don't feel like changing it, but if you have a problem w/ it, let me know. I just found it funny so I left it.)
I love being the one guy in a room using a certain weapon. I love being the one guy in that same room owning people with that weapon, lol.
