The Socom 3 Strategy Guide "By the Players For the Players"
Welcome to
Socom 3.com, the largest Socom community in the world. This strategy guide was designed, made, and written by real Socom 3 and Combined Assault players; not just any person at a cubicle at Brady Games or Prima. Inside, you will find tips and tricks to weapons, attachments, vehicles, listings that will show you how to use each piece of equipment to its fullest. Map strategies are also included, so that you can learn every map and all the strategies involved like the back of your hand, providing you with the tools to dominate the multiplayer aspect. The cool part? This isn’t even scratching the surface! There is plenty more to learn whether you are new to the game, a seasoned veteran, or a Socom legend. This guide will provide you with all of the information needed to step up your game, or even start it!
Due to the lack of members/the dropping out of some members, and family issues over the past couple of months, this release of the strategy guide is not up to par with previous installments. We apologize for this, although we are hopeful will be able to provide the community with a full version next month.

This month's featured map is:
ECHELON
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
General Tips:
1) Don't move by yourself.
2) In the center area, dubbed "Bomb Pickup Lane", do NOT bunch up together in a group, as grenades will come flying in. Space apart so that you can get an angle on anyone who's in front of you. If you can see him, and so can your teammate, that's double the death-scocity splashing towards your foe.
3) Moving in the tunnels within the stadium, you'll be pressed to find out something quickly if you move by yourself... Guys hiding behind walls will wreak havoc on your game.
4) While moving on the ground area, you must, I repeat, MUST use the walls and surrounding areas to your advantage. While moving forward, take some time to hide behind a wall and use third person to look around it. After you've been satisfied as to enemy concentration above you, and think it's safe to move forward, then you press on, moving to the next location that you deem to be safe to hide behind and scan the area ahead of you.
5) If you've got a scope on you, don't be afraid to use it at all times. Don't be afraid to take a gander at what's ahead of you, and light up whosoever's head happens to be within your reach...

ECHELON STRATEGIES-SEALS
Suppresion:
Strategy - Make sure that you take over the stadium, first of all. After which, you can deal w/ the road ways, and take out their spawn point 1
.
The enemy can run from their spawn point 1 towards the top area of the stadium and take it over. That's where the bulk of the difficult fighting will happen. My advice to you would be to rush the stadium w/ 2 teams. The bulk of your team should be concentrating on taking over the stadium, and making sure no enemies can enter the stadium after you've cleared it out.
After that, have a sniper, and about 2/3 other units assault the "Bomb Pickup Lane". The sniper provides long range coverage while the other people scope in at any point of opportunity and take out the enemy units that may happen to be in front of them. If they see nothing, the sniper still covers them from afar while they move up from obstacle to obstacle. That'll help to clear out the lane, and then move to their spawn point one.
Also, you might want to be very careful while advancing, as the ridge on the stadium that overlooks the "BPL" will most likely have one or two guys. So every so often, take a gander up there to make sure there's no one there.
Control Points:
Strategy - Have your team spawn at 2 different spawn points. Make sure you move in groups of two, and to stay close to each other, but not as close as to get grenade shrapnel shoved up both your a**es.
If you want to play it safe, play it like this; 2 teams of 2 each take over the nearest spawn point, and lay down claymore, mines, whatever possible in order to keep the nav point under YOUR control, make sure the enemy DOES NOT grab any of those nav points. Then, the rest of the team should move out in force and take the third navpoint, after which, the overall force of your units should remain the same @ all nav-points.
If you want to go all out, play it like this; 2 teams of 2 each take over the nearest spawn point, and lay down claymores, mines, whateve rpossible in order to keep the nav points under YOUR control... Here's where it gets fun... The third group that comprises of the rest of the team, should move out in force and take over all the nav-points.
Think how you'd feel if you saw 8 people rushing towards your nav-point? I don't know about you, but I'd be surprised/scared/shrinking my balls like all hell!
Demolition:
Strategy- As with ANY demolition match, you should play it like this to make sure you get a win... First thing is first, never attempt to pick up the bomb first, as it will always be watched. Instead, move around the area, with disregard for the bomb, because as soon as it's picked up, you know the location of the man who picked it up, and can make a straight (and quick) rush for the area between the bomb plant and the bomb and take out whoever happens to be in your way.
Clear out the stadium, and get a large force moving to their bomb plant, to take out any snipers/so forth.
Make sure that 3 things are accomplished before you try to take the bomb and plant it.
A) The enemy's thoroughly thinned out.
B) The MVP on their side is dead
C) They have about half remaining numbers as you do.
This should make for a very easy run towards the enemy base, and a decisive win with a quick victory for your team.
And remember, for your team? A draw is 200% better than a loss.
Breach:
Strategy - This is hard...
Remember this, with every breach, you'll most likely encounter an enemy or two. Don't expect EVERYONE to survive, so remember that some of your teammates will die, so you need to stick together in twos to help minimize that effect to your team.
Try to do it like this:
Have the weakest players (sorry weak players!) breach the breaches and rush through, they'll be the "sensors". When they push through, if they meet w/ resistance, they'll fall back, and throw grenades and rush through. Wash, rinse, repeat all the way towards the bomb plant.
When you're @ the bomb plant, do not, I repeat, DO NOT rush to PLANT...
Instead run around the surrounding area, clear out any campers, then plant the bomb.
Don't be stupid, and rush, plant, get murked, and give the other team points for defusing...
Small Suppression:
Strategy - What else is there to say?
In this all out frag-fest, the objective is to completely obliterate your enemy, one way or the other.
From where you spawn, they spawn to the WEST...
I think you know how to do this... But if not, I'll let you in on a strat. for this map!
As soon as you spawn, have a group of guys suppress the enemy's spawn point by throwing massive amounts of grenades, after which, set up snipers to camp the right and left tunnels, have everyone move out from the center out, and clear from their end of the stadium to the opposite end.
After which, have them move upstairs to the balconies, and snipe from there. That should allow you to gain the advantage on anyone that you happen to meet in any game in ECHELON small.
