Socom CA, will ol school fans like it?

I would like to start off by saying this board/community looks really cool!

I have been a socom gamer since part 1 and when part 2 dropped I found myself turn from a average a couple of hours a week game to a 3 hour a day gamer , well at least for socom. Then fast forward to 2005 and when SOcom 3 dropped man was I sooooooo dissapointed a lot of people that were down with the series since part 1 were detered, bored after an hour or so and it didnt have that mass appeal n Zipper really messed up!

My question as the title of the thread reads from what you guys have read/seen will Socom CA cater to the people that liked the endless hours of addicting game play and maps in Socom 1 and 2????

I really miss the socom series as do others(numbers for yearly sales can proove that as socom 3 to date has been the worst selling installment) we old school socomers who left the series(I havnt played in 6 months) are waiting for Zipper to give us back what we truely miss because Socom 3 does not have that feel.

I hope I can spend a few hours a day with buddies, strangers online and so forth just kicking back and shooting up mofos again and HAVING FUN doing so.

Well I know my friends and I are excited to play SCA. Just a revamped socom 3, but whatever it looks promising. More excited for co-op play then anything though.

I aint really even focused on the co op feature stuff, my whole prerogative is hoping to play socom CA as much as I did socom 2. I mean Socom 2 provided countless hours of just chilling for hours on end with friends, peeps online you don't even know and blastin mofos and having a blast.

I can never go back to Socom 3 i don't think i stopped playing that 3 months after it came out, and I have not picked up any socom game for half a year, I do miss my socom fix hence why i am hoping socom CA will bring back an addcitive feel.

I hope Socom CA will provided those countless hours of gaming, memories and FUN!

im hopein i like im goin for massive coop play if theyve got they ai skill way up there i just relized to the better ai on the demo is only on ensign i cant wait to jump strait to commander with my friends messing around like using a beanbag rnd on there back "opps i thought i say a fly" it should be fun but then again s3 had all this new stuff people were excited about

Umm, yeah. I played S3 for 6hrs last night, doing just that.

I've been playing since S2, and I love S3.

"oldschoolers" like yourself will hate Socom: Combined Assault. It's just like Socom 3, just with the addition of online co-op.

I think only one man armies are the ones that miss S2. S3/S:CA are both teamwork games. Campers and snipers are so easy to kill that they alone can't be the reason.

If you're the "average" old school Socom gamer, then you probably won't like it. And when I say average, I mean the person who likes to rush out and hates ghillies/silencers and all that crap.

However, if you're like me and like S3 for what it is but know it's faults, then you'll be hyped for S:CA and more than likely like it.

Or you can be the other type, the gamer that brainwashes themselves into thinking that a game they hate is actually the best game around. If you're that type, then you'll be happy either way.

the times have changed. socom1 and 2 arent just as good as S3..the only reason people dont like s3 is because its a big change..the graphics are better, guns shoot faster, the gameplay is faster, everythings faster..And how can you play s2 with all the code9 crap going on... But yah i dont care play s1 and s2 all you want..soon s3 will bad compared to s4 on ps3..The times are changing and theres nothing you can do about it..

How can you not like Socom3? It is so fun and very addicting. S2 is very fun to, but S3 is just as fun. Like another poster said, its just faster gameplay, if you can't handle that, then I doubt you will like S:CA. The biggest thing i'm exited about is being able to use my mic.

*QUESTION*: For those of you that have seen my threads about my mic in general and online gaming, do you think theres a chance my mic will work with S:CA?? I was hyped about being able to use it again because it was sure to work, seeing as the only game i cant use it on is S3... but will it work? I realize now that the two games are going to share the same server, so maybe I still wont be able to use it??? I'm renting S:CA when it comes out, and if my mic doesn't work, theres no way im going to play a year and a half again with no mic. I'll be done with socom... until the next one comes out on a new server. :)

How can you like this game? It's complete utter garbage. Kids quicksniping and people with f90's camping behind walls? Socom 1 and 2 had so much more and was so much better. I've seen times where me and my buddies chill and play socom1 for hours. Socom 3? Nope. Sure you're supposed to camp and you're supposed to play tactical. But not every has the attention span for that long. The game is boring and complete utter crap.

CA will be the same way, with different guns and different maps.

Then you don't need to purchase or play the game, no one is forcing you.

I like S3 and can't wait for CA to come out, it's the only game I have ever pre-oredered. I'm looking forward to the on-line co-op.
