How to improve rating

To me when my rank goes up..my rating goes down.

I lost 2 games in a row and ranked up :D. It's funny though, the people in the Top 10 are locking their accounts because people aquired there info. If people ranked up with those names (as in winning while that name was on the other team) they would probably gain 2000 points.

I typically play demo, and keep a healthy 3:1 K/D ratio, and my rank only plummets. Here's some tips:

* Play 11 round games, with 4+ minute rounds.
* Avoid playing only suppression.
* Demo, Extraction and Control Points are best, especially when you plant the bomb, extract and get the CPs.
* Keep a positive K/D ratio.
* Survive the round.
* Win more rounds than the other team did. 6-0 is better than 6-5.
* Play and beat people with better ranks than you.
* Stop caring about rank, it'll only frustrate you, and more than likely reduce you to the scum of socom gamers: the camper sniper.

Your merit's measured by your performence, not the icon next to your name.

I used to care a lot about my rank....but then I would get killed by noobs with M203's and stuff so now I just go all out and don't use much caution (except in the beginning of the round during random grenadage).

JAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJA,that same thing happened to me dude.I stop playing for like 2 months and my rank went up.And that my friends demonstrates how ****ed up the ranking system is on this game.

heh well said but not alawys true if your team is full of 4 stars and ur a 2 slash with posative 400 rateing points vs a team of negative butter sticks and you win 6-0 and you go 100-0 your rank will still go down about 50 or so points is hows the ranking system is made

It is hard to keep your rank up. I was a @ star admiral for a long time then it has stopped going down. Then i just gave up and its still going down. The only time i think it every go up if the reset disconnects and quits.

Not true. The ranks based on rateing points. So if your on a team whos rateing points add up to be more than the other team your going to lose points no matter what even if you go 6-0 get a million kills and zero deaths. So zipper pretty much just f*cked up on the ranking system.
