i'd like to see s4 set on american soil with something like a seal team counter terrorism unit.
it would be pretty flippin sweet to play an extraction where you had to make it through like 4 floors of some office building type skyscraper, or a breach where you had to take out a terrorist cell training facility in an old ghost town. they could even get some open field type terrain in there with a scenario where terrorist are coming across the mexico border into texas or something.
the other thing i would really like to see is customisable skins. nothing like ea sports game face or anything that complicated, just a few easy things like 3-4 different camoflage patterns, 4-5 different head coverings, and then maybe a few different backpack choices. this wouldn't be done in the briefing room where it would tie up the game it would be done in either offline or in the options menu.
i really need to work for zipper. lol

The customisable suits/skins are a great idea, I have always said that on any game I play. As for it been set in the USA, I think that would be cool but it would quite literally be too close to home if you know what I mean. Your idea about the Mexican border would be too much of a controversial issue to have in a game. I know your ideas are only examples but political issues like that are too controversial. At least SOCOM 3 is just based on war in general and not the war in Iraq or something. Damn politics, it ruins games.

Havn't you ever heard of frostfire? That pic has been out for years you nub.
But this interview was a load of pointless crap. They need to be worried about how much they ****ed up the title "socom" and made the worst game in ****ing history, not how often they use the amazingly overpriced HDD. They ruined "socom" with s3. They better make s4 just like s2 with fixed problems or just s1 with dnas.

I sort of agree with Otter. They should make PS3 socom back to 8v8, with S2 maps (greatly improved graphics and what not) and take some of the better small maps from S3 (maybe killing fields, fault, some other stuff just to give it some variety) not to mention making some new maps...
Not like it will happen, but Id actually enjoy playing a game like that.

Yeah I apologize I am kinda tired right now I just got back from training some little kid on how to play goalkeeper for soccer and I didn't notice the Socom 2 copyright.
But anyways I, like Otter I want to see the good ole S1, S2 8 v 8 maps, but from what we have Gotten so far we can expect something like 20 v 20 . Either way Zipper/SCEA has to understand that the quality of a feature is better than the quantity of features that they offer.

why? this is stupid man...everybody wants socom 2 back.... i mean i agree with some of the stuff you guys are saying but socom 3 is better in many aspects than socom 2 was... i enjoyed socom 2 but i think the close nit maps were boring especially playing the only 2 or 3 good maps that there was in socom 2... not everything is going to be perfect... the ps2 is almost 6 years old now...zipper was pushing the system to its limits and in the end, they came up with an amazing FREE online game...its time for a change new maps ect...socom 2 maps were good but i look forward to new senerios, instead of the same old maps from s2.... im not trying to flame but i cant stand reading about why socom 2 was way better... to me if you dont like s3 then stop wasting your breath on these forums and go back to s2...sorry i had to vent...but i agree some of the aspects in socom 2 were better... but paled in comparrison to socom 3....-undead-

DNAS doesnt check for codes, it just checks to see if you have a bootleg disc and some mod chips. I hope they keep at 32 players, but put more work into the maps.

this gets me excited for socom 4 =]
i think it will be way improved graphics (hopefully) and maybe even some customizable skins like you people said above. Like in Syphon Filter: Omega Strain, that type of character customization. That would be sweet if there were like ships and stuff, like actually ships like aircraft carriers or something like that. They should even do a co-op mode online for single player. Ah, so much possibilities =]
