Hasn't anyone ever heard of nightvision? It's effective and your enemy won't see it. Lights on the vehicles would be nice, but hand-held lights is just another object that would take up weapon space and increase weight on the SEAL (or terrorist). I'd rather just use nightvision....I mean, wouldn't you? Unless you want your foes to see you when you don't see them in the corner behind you in a pitch black room.
This is just another pointless idea tacked onto the already unrealistic list for SOCOM 4 (which, may I remind you, won't be coming out for awhile --regarding that fact there will even be a SOCOM 4).

i find it very difficult to shoot in the first person. it has always gotten me killed i a flashlight would help to shoot in the third person.
No need for a flashlight. The dark maps arent even as dark, and besides you wouldnt see much with it on either. But I do agree on the 3 attachments, I think that would be pretty cool.

Flashlights would do more harm for the wearer than good. While you may be able to see whatever's in your cone of lighted vision, all your enemies can see YOU from a mile away. It would be equivalent to waving a big flag and shouting "here I am, come and kill me!".
...
On second thought, go ahead and put flashlights in the game...
