Wow...For S3 that controller would be a serious stupid waste of money (no offense intended). First, I love the theft of the SWAT artwork in the description. And why would you want a circle button in the most ackward place, you would need to use your pinky or ring finger. I find it much easier to use the highly bored index finger of my left hand on Frogman. I think the toggle switches would end up being the same for heavy hitters. Your hands would be directly over them when you were gripping it, wearing a long sleeve shirt you would probably hit them things every half a sec. With Frogman, R3 is still reload (which personally, I think is the side that doesnt get mashed predominantly) and circle is Rate of Fire and Inventory.
Also, that is a standard Dual-Shock controller and not a Dual-Shock 2.

I've been modding my controllers since Socom II, where it was a great help. With Socom 3, it's not as much of an issue with the various controller schemes.

If you need help, just PM me. I've done this so many times I could do it with my eyes closed.

Edit: Damn it, my rank dropped : (

Even though I agree that the mods are not really needed for socom3 because of the button sensitivity changes, I have to say tixbomber that you don't know what you are talking about. I have had a mod since socom 2 and I have yet to come across one of the obvious possible problems you outlined in your post. Try using one before you bash on it. Otherwise you are just like every other person who runs their mouth without knowing what they are talking about. The extra talk button is perfect. The middle finger of the right hand lays right over it and clicking it is a breeze. I never mistakingly hit one of my extra l3 or r3 buttons with a long sleeve shirt or any crap like that. The buttons would have to be superemely sensitive for your shirt to depress them while in game.
