well in the military they usually have "Battle Buddys" so when you are reloding the guy behind you or maybe next to you kills the guy.

Its called a fire team or element, and yes I am part of one of those but when clearign a small building (2 or 3 rooms) you only operate perfectly when taking the first room, the second and third have to be taken real quick (before the grenades start flying) so generally the same man enters each one first and it is generally advisable to have the bayonet attached

After posting, I did a little thinking and came to the same conclusion. But hearing actual tactics is always nice.

Thanks for the response Jdalf and Miller

The Scar is not a 552. Ghost Recon 2 : Summit Strike has the SCAR in it and it kicks ***. GR:SS has some better weapons than Socom 3 like the SCAR, OICW, M29 land warrior system which also kicks major ***. The land warrior system in GR:SS lets you peak around corners, has explosive rounds that give you the option of inputting a set distance before they explode and a range finder to call in airstrikes or artillery barrages all in one weapon. You also have the SCAR w/ the 5.56 & 7.62mm rounds for assaultmen, w/ 100+ drum magazine for heavy gunners, and a SCAR sniper rifle. Probably twice as many weapons on GR:SS than Socom and more customisable characters. I still love Socom though, because even with all that I think Socom has better gameplay/character movement (a bit faster paced). With the new GR coming out this month i'm not sure if that'll still be the case because the trailers look sick.

I remember watching an episode of Mail Call on the history channel about a year ago and Gunny brought out a brand new gun that was supposed to replace the m16 and i believe it was the scar, he got to test fire it as a sniper and an automatic he also was given the opportunity to make the switch between the two, it took him a couple mins. but it was awesome. i just remember thinking how cool the gun would be to use and well here it is

This is old news guys......This gun has been tested and adopted for the special forces at least about a year ago.

Anyway.....I think some of you are a little confused about the caliber of the weapon.

There are two SEPERATE versions. One is the 5.56x45mm "light" version which will primarily be your assualt carbine or room clearing version and the 7.62x39mm "heavy" version which will be used primarily as the LMG and support sniper roles. The 7.62 will probably get a much heavier grade barrel, optional drum magazines and different optics.

You couldnt just take the light version and run around picking up AK47 mags and shooting them off. Its a totally different barrel size, mag size, trigger mechanism difference....ect...... In other words.....it would be entirely different.

Its made by Fabrique Nationale Herstal though, so I am sure its very well made and very reliable. These are the same people that make the P90 and the FAL. The FAL is one of the most reliable assault rifles ever produced and hopefully this trend will carry over to the SCAR.

It does kinda look like a compact 552. But that looks like a fun gun to shoot.
