Bayonets are also used when assaulting a building (in the british army at least)... you don't have time to stop and reload after clearing one room, you have to be fast so when the trigger stops working you start knifing people

Think about it........

Imagine squaring off with somebody that you know is out of ammo, but you notice he has a nice, sharp bayonet attached to this rifle. If you are a sane man, you'll think twice about rushing him.

No matter how advanced war will get, there will still always be a use for the "hands on" approach.

A bayonet is awesome in regards to close quarters fights.

i wouldn't mind a knife on my gun. walk up behind someone and just stab them, that would be sweet.

but it looks like a 552 which is wierd because they say its for the SEALS but its one of the terr. guns.

There are really only 2 kinds of external look for a gun... Bullpup (SA 80, STG 77) and the traditional type (M14, AK 47)... so looks don't vary much... the SCAR looks a little like a 552, but also like the FN FAL which they made around 50 years ago... just the way guns are (AK 74 and 47 are very diffrent but look quite alike)

i see two problems from my stand point. 1st the open sights look like garbage. 2nd is why the need to carry two different type of rounds? which the fire rate should be the same no matter which round you use. right? maybe one type for runnin & gunnin and the other for sniping? or unless if you go into the field and your using 5.56 round and oh **** you ran out of rounds then you go over to a sob that was using an ak-47 or ra-14 you grab his 7.62 rounds BOOM back in the game. That could come in handy in s-4.

The open sights look like that because they are meant for backup purposes only. Standard issue on these weapons will be an ACOG optic (or something similiar).

As far as the offering of two different calibers, I think it makes the SCAR a little more versatile for the SPEC OPS troops. Personally, I'd love to be packing the 7.62mm version of the weapon.

yes i would prefer the 7.62 much better round. Idk if it's me or what I cant get the feel for ak-47 in s3 i have one in "real life" and love it. But on s3 its like there is no accuracy to it. Now ag-94 hell yeah me and that gun = god.

I don't like this gun simply because it says it can do so much and generally when that happens it turns out to be pure crap (L85A1... that was a bombshell of a gun... you flick the side and the firing mechanism turned to goddam putty)

I think the AK 47 round variant would be jolly nice but then again why not just pick up the AK? Probably more reliable and with superior tactics easily enough to make mince meat of terrorists
