What ticks me off is that I took a 12 Gauge M4-90 and still didn't kill anyone in S3 the Shotguns stink. I took a 12 Gauge ran up to someone and took a slug to their chest and all that happened was that they fell down. Or it could be that even if you take a M87ELR and shot someone 15 times in the head they won't die. Maybe my game is screwed

A few weeks ago I was playing Harvest. on Terr (Convoy) and I was bored so I used the 12 gauge.

12 kills/4 Deaths: I took MVP.

The 12g. is great if you know how to shoot it, and you don't just jam the fire button when you get into a firefight. You have to time your shots with what direction the other person is going; you just need one good shot to knock them down, then you can run up and shoot them again in the face.

Granted, the "Auto" shotguns on this game you can shoot someone multiple times close range while they're running and they won't get knocked down, which is lame but understandable.

Uhh use a 12 gauge or a M4-90 if you can they are best.

I know almost for a fact the the M4-90 is a lot weaker. I just watch ppl on killing fields and a guy will be chasing another guy while pumpin he body full of lead, and it takes about 6-7 shots.

Okay how many bullets do you get when you have slug ammo and what guns can carry them offline? Another thing how to heck can a person not die when you load a couple shots ( 8 ) into their chest and head and they still don't die.

i think a shotgun shot for close range should = one death.
come on, zipper. i hate the time i get hit by a shotty, hit the ground and watch helplessly as the shooter aim for a good perfect shot. it is hella g@y sometimes.but this is only my opinion.

I love shotguns. My fav is the TA simply because it carries the most ammo. I can't decide if I like the pump over the M4-90 or vice versa, they're both good. I'm pretty sure however, that the pump is most accurate and most powerful, and the TA is least accurate and least powerful, and the M4-90 is somewhere in between. The only issue I have is that slugs are incredibly weak. You can hit people straight in the head on some occasions and all it does is tell them they're being shot and should move. Also you should be able to carry more than 3 slugs.
I just love shotguns because up close nothing else stands a chance. If someone comes around a corner with an F90, they gotta hit you about 4 times to kill you (not saying this is hard, it shoots quick), but with your shotgun you only need to hit them once, which is made even easier by the natural fan-shaped radius of buckshot. It rarely kills in one shot, but if you knock them over I doubt they'll survive. Also I've learned once you knock someone down, finish them quick because I've often waited a few seconds and:
-had someone else come up and kill me
-had some jerk on my team steal the kill
-shot them to death, but they lag and have enough time to plant one on my forhead as they go down

Also try my favourite uber move, which one of my friends calls "the Spook execution":
knock someone down with a shotgun and quickly pull out your pistol and deliver a headshot before they can stand back up. It's hard but I've had tons of fun doing it.

How much in real life does a slug weigh for a 12 Guage?

I like enemies to use shotguns beacause they don't alwys realise that when you have been shot and are falling to the ground you can still use your assault rifle, sure it's inacurate but you could damage them pretty badly for your team mates to finish off.
