1) For where you've put 'M16A2 (Real Designation: Colt M16A2 *Former AR-15*), I think an AR-15 is just the civilian model of the rifle. It has a shorter magazine capacity and no bayonete (sp?) fixing point. M16A2 is just the military designation given to the rifle I believe.

2) For X-M8, the X is there because it was a prototype. But I think it now has a final design and if being field tested. So I believe it is just a regular M8 and not an X-M8.
the ar15 is the civilian version yes but it can have a 30 round mag jus like a m16.the m16A2 is a single or 3 round burst gun unlike the A1 which was full auto in nam.also the ar15 is only single shot and can mount a bayonette if u get a preban 1.post ban has no bayonette lug. The xm8 is being tested alot so it can be a prayer for our military so we dont get deaths from things like jams and not being able to shoot for long times. its gunna be the AK47 of .223 cal guns.

I also don't think we know for sure that they took those weapons away.but i m not using m14 .

The only thing about the XM8 is that it's basically a variant of the G36. The G36 is already extremely popular and is already pretty much the AK of the .223 world. Light, reliable, requires little cleaning, all that good stuff.

Good list though, although I'm pretty sure the 9mm Sub is the Mini Uzi, not the Micro.

yes the G36 is a good weapon but the magazines are so fat they cannot be placed closely like M16 mags.

also, the G36 will no longer be that "AK47" of the .223 world. H&K is making the HK416, an H&K version of the M4. it is complete with an RIS system and all.

also, there is an AR-15 variant that is an assault rifle that is chambered in 7.62. its called the SR-47, but its mostly only used in afghanistan.

what dissapoints me though is that there is no SOPMOD 16. its an M14 that has rails for accesories like red dots and flashlights.

i would like to see the HK416,SR-47 and the SOPMOD 16 in the next Socom.
