Well, I've been playing Socom III on Single Player for a bit now, thought if I unlocked as many objects/items possible I would enjoy Socom III online a bit more than usuall ya know? So anyways, through Single Player game-play I noticed whenever I personally set an order directly to the Fireteam they then usually have some sort of trouble following the apposing command. When I set out the Fireteam to "Clear the Area", they set-forth down the map someways, or wherever I direct them to go and they target enemy subjects therefore begin to fire upon them. But, I notice that half of the bullet-percentages fired miss the enemy completely! Then it pisses me off that I have my crosshairs locked on another enemy subject ready to pull back my trigger, but then noticing that my Team are loosing health drastically. I then have to locate the enemy striking them down, and take that enemy down A.S.A.P, while being shot by the first terrorist I first began to start-out with. I don't know if it's just me, but damn I swear on Socom I - II the Fireteam was alot more undercontrol, and knew what needed to be shot and they took it down with no hesitation. So, do some of you Single Player practitioner's notice anything simular in any way?
ya, this really pisses me off. im playin the game over to unlock some more stuff, and my teamates shoot like they never done it before. sometimes i tell them to hold position, an enemy is like LITERALLY 5 FEET IN FRRRRRRRONT OF THEM and they DONT SHOOT!!!! even when 'fire at will' is on. i mean, omfggggggg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's called AI and it will never be perfect. Almost every shooter has probloms with AI somehow... This is proboably the reason they are moving to multiplayer online.
Yea, but the AI in S3 is THE WORST I have ever seen. That is not a good enough or even valid excuse. I am not sure why it is so different from the other Socoms, but in S1 and S2, when fire at will was on and they saw an enemy, 3 - 4 shots and they were down. S3 - 3 - 4 MAGS and they are down.....if they dont get killed first. Its horrible....

ya but come on? in killzone, when my allies are within arms length of an enemy they shoot them. in socom3, my allies stand there looking strait at them, trying to decide if they really should shoot them even tho theyre gettin shot at.
glad to see it's not just me with this predicament. the time it really got to me... I was targeting a tank to be destroyed. I had the whole team standing around me with the only orders of 'shoot at will.' well, a terrorist came from behind me and began shooting. I saw the red blip and heard his weapon. I thought, I'll just keep the tank targeted because my team will surely take care of this one guy. suddenly my health began deteriorating very rapidly. so I stand and turn around to shoot the terrorist just as he kills me with the butt of his rifle.
so as the camera does that dramatic moving around thing after you die, I could see my team moving around, looking everywhere with their guns at ready. why the hell didn't one them fire even one shot? my team watched me get killed! now I have learned not to rely on them so much.
Ever heard of the old saying, "If you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself!" That's how I beat Socom, I did everything myself, shooting, clearing, the works.
Enemy AI is better now too... Ever think of that? So instead of a decent seal AI shotting a stupid terrorist AI, a decent seal AI is now trying to take out a decent terrorist AI. In S3 they actaully hide and **** now, so thats why its harder.
On Admiral they are slightly better, but they are a joke really.I was playing the Brewed chaos level and i got to the last checkpoint and died, when i continued one of my team spawned on a roof? {The two small building's with the arch underneath},i had to finished the mission with a team of 3,really odd?
